  Conveniently located on main road in Joplin. Lots of nearby fast food. The room is was in had plenty of space. Large bed, comfortable sofa, and plenty of work space if you are on business. I will definitely choose this hotel the next time I'm in the area. This location is highly recommended!

  Absolutely horrible customer service. “Stephanie” was less than ideal to deal with after driving 1,000 miles traveling for the death of my mother and looking for somewhere to stay. She was taking frustrations out on me the second I walked in as I guess someone broke the door. I said my husband had booked a room just a few moments ago. She said yeah well he booked an accessible room and it looks like you really don’t need that. I had cancer on my femur bone and do use handrails to steady myself if needed, but I wasn’t getting into an argument at midnight about it. He was under the impression he paid for it as he had the charge on his card. When I was told I needed to pay $230 more it came as a shock. She was not very nice and became more frustrated slamming papers on the counter. I said since he didn’t pay for it cancel the room and left. I went to leave and the front door would not open. She came over and got so mad she pushed the door off the tracks. I’d give the whole interaction 0 stars if I could. Low and behold he still paid for the room and we will be filing a charge back as I have confirmation I never stayed and the customer service was not ideal. I continued driving and stayed in OKC.

  Hotel has been recently remodeled. Our room was clean and fresh. Only complaint was they need towel rods in the bathroom for those that want to reuse towels. Seems to be a common theme at the last 3 IHG’s we’ve stayed at. About the speed bumps that someone else mentioned, there are 2 by the front door and they are kind of tall. You can drive around the back and avoid them.

  I've stayed at a number of Holiday Inns and Holiday Inn Expresses over the years, and this is one of the worst. Problems started before we even got in the door. There's a sizeable lip on the threshold and my wife was almost dumped out of her wheelchair because of it. The lobby looked clean, but the rest of the hotel looked old and worn. I've stayed in cruise ship cabins with more room than our room had here. Grown adults must enter the bathroom sideways, because the gap is literally narrower than an adult's shoulders. The "thank you for being a rewards member" was a bit disengenuous when they then proceeded put us in a room at the far end of the hall. There were plenty of other rooms available, as there were almost no other cars in the lot (perhaps that should have been a red flag). Also, don't expect there to be ice on your floor. You have to go down to the lobby. Also, don't expect the cleaning crew to respect the "do not disturb" placard on the doorknob.
