On Saturday April 25th, I booked a room for my wife and I to have a date night away from the kids. We live 45 minutes away and wanted to go to Downstream and stay the night. I booked the room 1 week in advance. I arrived at 9 p.m. for check-in. The woman behind the desk informed me that they canceled my reservation due to my living within 60 miles of the hotel (makes no sense, as if people don’t just want a night away from their home sometimes) and they chose to not inform me of canceling my reservation. On top of that, they then booked all of their rooms out for the night. The woman behind the desk apologized and said someone was supposed to call me but they never did. As she scrambled for more excuses, she then told me all of their phones were down and that’s why she couldn’t call me about the cancellation before I ever arrived (as if the establishment and their management didn’t have ALL week to get ahold of me). I asked if herself or any of her management used emails (company emails) and couldn’t they just have emailed me if they couldn’t have called……. She slowly and sheepishly said “yes, I don’t know why none of us called you.” How absolutely unprofessional this establishment is if this is how they conduct business. I am a Diamond Elite member with IHG and have been in contact with a representative from them about my experience with this location. I spend a lot of money with IHG and am confused as to how you don’t contact someone to inform them you cancelled their reservation. IHG customer service was amazing and found me a room at the Holiday Inn down the road (which is much nicer), they are also an IHG hotel and said they’ve never heard of the 60 mile radius rule. Would not recommend this location, they probably won’t give you the room you reserved anyway…

I just barely got here yesterday and I'm sure I'm going to have a pleasant stay the main thing to me is the customer service and so far it's been great I've only got a few of the staff names Dylan Levi and Tammy, these are the staff members of met so far they're very polite very considerate and very attentive to your needs and concerns for a pleasant stay maintenance was quick to attend to my requests and I'm sure by the time I leave here I'll be giving another great review the place is very clean very quiet. God Bless the USA

I’m in Joplin for a large job, so my boss got me a room here and so far, I’m very impressed. Kim at the front desk has been very friendly and accommodating to my request; She even gave me a trash bag so I can carry some random items from my truck into my room. Customer service definitely gets a 10 out of 10. Parking is great, I have a huge trailer that I’m towing and I had plenty of room to park it. The room itself is nice and it has all the amenities; Including plates, silverware, fridge, dishwasher, and of course microwave. I’m very satisfied with the bed as well. I would definitely stay here again. Thanks Kim!

Perfect one night stay along the way. A bit older but very clean and spacious with necessary amenities—good value. Friendly staff. Pantry in lobby using honor system—felt homey. Convenience store and restaurant in walking distance tho we fried hamburgers and eggs using the kitchen. We do not care for most “free” breakfasts (on special diet) so not an issue. Will book again in future trips.

Nice stay while passing through. Bed was not super comfy for me but I have a hard time sleeping when traveling. Room was clean, mostly quiet. Counter service persons were very nice.
