My husband and I hosted our rehearsal dinner and welcome party the night before our wedding at the St. Paul Hotel. We also had all of our out of town guests, and our entire bridal party, stay at the hotel for the wedding weekend. We cannot speak highly enough about Selin, who helped us from beginning to end, with planning and executing our rehearsal dinner and really making the process so easy and efficient. The staff the day of our event went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly and Scott, the head server, helped keep everything running smoothly when we got slightly behind in itinerary to make sure we got to our welcome party on time. The food was also top notch! Our stay was wonderful and we got many compliments on the hotel, the staff, and the overall accommodations, from all the guests who stayed there. You also can’t beat the St. Paul Hotel at Christmas time. We would recommend the St. Paul Hotel to anyone who is looking to host a wedding, wedding event, or any special gathering.. Thank you to all for helping make our wedding weekend experience the very best!

Second time we have been to this hotel. Great memories with our kids from 10 years ago and now again. The staff is extremely attentive. Especially the young man who works as a barista at the coffee shop in the lobby. He was amazing. The only recommendation I have for the hotel is the valet parking gets backed up on the weekends during checkout time. By backed up, I mean, very backed up with very long wait times. Other than that, it was simply amazing.

I attended a Christmas musical performance with luncheon in the events ballroom--did not stay at the hotel. The performance was WONDERFUL! ("It's a Wonderful Life" radio play + other musical vignettes). When I booked I was not offered any option as to vegetarian. The food eas sparse and tepid when served. There was a,soup course, a.pork entree, and a tiny cranberry cheese/cake dessert maybe 2" × 2". It took 20" to get requested butter, despite attempts to get attention from wait staff who stayed with assigned tables only. Very disappointing meal especially at a hktel venue. Directions to the ballroom were made easy by drsk staff.

This review is for the afternoon tea. I have been to tea four times - twice for holiday, once regular, and once for Mother's Day. The ambiance is always delightful. The staff is also delightful. The ticket process is great. I give a 4 only because the food is just OK. Photo with one of the 5 star servers, Joanne!

This is a historic, charming albeit outdated hotel in the heart of St. Paul. I was having a relatively good experience except tonight I called the front desk because we had been here three days and yet the hotel had not once replenished our room bottles, and I politely asked them to bring up two bottles of water. The hotel desk said they'd bring it up. At no point did the lady I spoke to allude to the cost of the bottles: I assumed they were complimentary given the omission but was nevertheless ready to pay a reasonable price. When the water arrived, the charge was $30. I kid you not, $30 for two 20oz bottles of water that each costs less than $3. I was and remain flabbergasted, except to top things off, I called the front desk and politely told them I had not opened the water and instead did not want to be charged for the bottles, though I kindly offered to pay for the room service charge and tax ($3). The lady at the front desk snarkily and abruptly said "ok", before proceeding to hang up on me. The charge was still there when I checked out. It is a shame that this hotel gouges and treats its guests this way. REPLY TO THE OWNER: Thank you for your reply. I appreciate your professionalism and your confirmation regarding the refund of the water bottles, and after checking with my partner, I agree that this was handled correctly at checkout. However, I must clarify a few points. When I initially contacted the front desk, no options were explained to me, nor was the price of the water disclosed. I was not informed that the two 20oz bottles would cost $15 each. When I later called to express concern about the charge and said I would not be using the bottles, the staff member simply said “ok” and ended the call without acknowledging the misunderstanding, offering alternatives, or apologizing. My concerns remain: the lack of transparency around pricing, the excessive cost for small water bottles, the fact that water was not replenished in our room for two days, and the missed opportunity for the front desk to address the issue constructively when it was brought to their attention. I share this feedback in the hope it helps improve communication and guest experience going forward.
