The Avid hotel staff was so helpful when I had a reservation mix up and were happy to sort things out with me. I appreciated the cleanliness of the hotel room and the modern amenities. Overall great stay!

This would be a nice hotel if they would fix the HVAC. I’ve been in three rooms, and there have been problems in each. I was ready to leave the first night, except (1) I would have to drive over 30 minutes to find a comparable rate, (2) it was already after 10 PM, and (3) they would not guarantee I would not be charged. In the first room, the fan was unbalanced and very loud. I might have been able to put up with it, except it would not shut off, even if I turned the heat off. In the second, the system was either off or on heat. The room was a bit warm when I arrived, so I turned the set temperature below the room temperature. The heat came on. I shut it off, but only after the room temp had risen two degrees. The front desk worker came up, told me I had to turn the temperature down (which I had already done). He turned it down to the minimum, and it still put out warm air. The third room was good while the weather was nice. But after a snowstorm moved in, the unit blew in cold outside air when it shut off. So the heat would come on, warm up the room, the unit would shut off, but cold air would still blow in. The room got cold and the cycle repeated. Again and again and again. Maintenance tried to fix it but whatever they did just made the unit vibrate when it was on, making the noise worse and doing nothing about the frequent cycling. Other than that, the rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable, and the breakfast is okay (standard hotel food except no waffles, but the bagels and oatmeal are decent).

I have stayed at many brands this hotel tries to compete with. But it fails abysmally due to cutting too many corners. The rooms are devoid of amenities which would be standard for a business traveller. Not only was the room was around half the size of the typical product in the same class of hotels, the bathroom was not clean which is unacceptable. Granted it was late at night, but the front desk was neither sober nor professional. I wouldn’t recommend this to other travelers.

I called the morning of the blizzard on 12/28 to let them know we couldn't make it North. My son had a medical appointment and we were stuck in a ditch. I called to tell them to please open the room for someone else who may need it, the storm was horrific. They were super empathetic and let me know they wouldn't charge me. They charged me for 2 nights instead of one and now they won't fix it. I was charged $238 for a room I didn't stay in that they swore they wouldn't charge me the one night for due to the circumstances. Definitely don't stay here in the winter, they dgaf.

Due to the snow storm and road conditions, I decided to get a room last night after work instead of driving home. I arrived right before midnight. The gentleman who checked me in was pleasant and accommodating when I asked for a late check out (noon). I work late nights, so I needed sleep before going straight back in the morning for an 11 hour shift. Despite the late check out AND having the Do Not Disturb sign on my door, housekeeping was knocking on my door at 8:45am. Why would they be there so early at all if there was someone in the room? I finally fell back asleep around 10am, they were back knocking on my door at 11am. Are they not notified when guests have a late check out? Would have been a great stay otherwise.
