Mike and Maria served fresh hot chicken tacos at Staybridge for Social hour at Staybridge on 11th Ave in Rochester Mn. What a great treat when you are waiting for Doctor appointments at Mayo clinic. They are both so friendly and serve wine or beer and soft drinks if desired! Great!

Posted for Leah Heide - I hope you’ve had a good Easter, Sharon! Since it’s a Christian holy day, I’m going to say this: as a Christian, i believe we can only make that claim if we actually tru to reflect the love of Christ in this life. And you are one of the people who does that in our world. Not only to us, but we’ve seen you in action! You do your best to make EVERYONE’s day better. We admire you!❤️

The staff here is great! Mike was a great bartender for the social time on Monday night. Super friendly. He remembers the guests that have been here for a while. Sharon, Maria, and the rest of the kitchen staff a fabulous! Their blueberry scones are delicious!! Great location. Walkable to Mayo (less than a mile), and the shuttle is super easy, too.

I had a few issues with housekeeping which were immediately rectified by the staff, and that's why I rated service a 4. I really like the amenities here. On Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday they have a social hour where they serve appetizer hot food, beer, and wine. On Mondays they also have bingo after the social hour. The best part of all of those is the social director named Mike. He is caring, funny, attentive, and helpful. He is a real asset to this hotel. He hosts the social hours and bingo. Mike is the first one to stop what he's doing to help someone in a wheelchair to an accessible table, or carry food and drinks for someone using a walker, a cane or on crutches. I can't say enough about this employee. He will make your stay better than any other hotel in the area.

Cons: #1 Poor customer service. No one can make a decision about anything on the weekend. First off we were given the wrong room at check in. After lugging all stuff to the room given to us, I immediately noticed and went back to the desk and was told there was nothing he (Alex) could do about it. We had called twice to confirm we could stay in the same room all 4 days. I told him, we were told it was taken care of. After 5 minutes of typing on the computer, we were able to be checked into the room we had been told was available prior to our arrival. Side note-it is very unprofessional and disrespectful to wear a headphone in your ear when communicating with customers. I couldn’t tell if Alex was hard of hearing or listening to something while talking to me. #2 We were told the garage was full and had to park on the street and that it was free. We came back from 8 hours at Mayo Clinic to a $28 ticket on our windshield. We went to the front desk to figure out why we got a ticket when we were told it was free parking. Come to find out on a separate paper sitting on the desk explains it is only free from 5 pm to 8 am. This was not made clear to us and we were not given the paper or told of its existence. We were told we had to talk to Susan the manager on Monday. This was not possible as I had an 8:30 am appointment at Mayo. #3: Parking in the garage is an extra $20 per day, if available. #4: When going to the desk for anything, there was no on around and no bell to alert someone was at the desk. There were multiple times where there was a line forming at the desk and there was no one around to help the customers. #5: If you want a chair/recliner in your room you have to pay more for a room with a recliner. #6: The walls are super thin. We could hear everything. We were on the 6 floor yet we could hear cars, dogs, people talking as if they were just outside our window. Pros: #1: The room we stayed in was very nice and clean. We paid for the premium room because we were going to be there for 4 nights. #2: The stay was a good value. #3: The breakfast we paid extra for, was good and had a large variety of breakfast options and drinks. #4: The atmosphere in the hotel is nice. #5: The garage for parking is nice, clean, warm, and convenient, if available.
