When I made the reservation I asked if renovations would be complete and was told yes. They were not done at all when we checked in. Once they are done, the management needs to figure out how to keep the breakfast/eating area clean while it's in use because it was really a disaster -- the hotel is quite large and most of the guests were using the area at the same time, leaving trash and food everywhere. The only ice machine on the first floor was surrounded by construction materials.
In our room room we had a bathroom door that wouldn't close and squeaked loudly, and no housekeeping came after the first night until we called in the afternoon - and all they did was drop off a bunch of towels on the counter - we had to call again for garbage pickup and tissue restocking. No way to get Netflix on the TV.
Overall not great, especially for the price. $318 for two nights.

Currently undergoing renovations, but it's going to look amazing when it's done. Obviously a popular location, only took me ten or twenty minutes to get into town and check out things like Mall of America, or get the quintessential Minneapolis Juicy/Jucy Lucy (for real, try them both, just ask around, the locals will tell you where to go). The longest hallway in a hotel... Quite a spine! But these rooms are spacious, comfortable, clean, and inviting! I love this barn door to the bathroom, it's kinda enchanting ;)

This hotel is a real mixed bag. The room itself was clean and comfortable. Service was okay, not the most friendly. However, the proximity to the train tracks is not something I realized when booking. The midnight train horn was not a welcome wake up call. Additionally, the hotel is being renovated. While it didn't impact us a great deal, it should really be disclosed when booking. The breakfast area is also smaller than other Holiday Inns I've been to, and was quite crowded. 7:30 start time for breakfast feels late, but I'm an early riser.

I wish they would have said something on the internet when I was booking this room for the week that it was under construction. Can't even use the front entrance. Can't have any access to the vending machine. It must be frustrating for the hotel when it's under construction for months on end. It was kind of a bad experience and until they finish remodeling, I would not even suggest staying here. there's definitely was not the first time i've stayed here either. I stayed here when it wasn't under construction last year and it was mediocr at best. Definitely staying elsewhere next year. next time, maybe put it on your website that it's undergoing construction.

Room where nice, service was top tier and location was great with plenty of great restaurants within walking distance and good bars for a late night drink. Give its location this is a popular hotel and breakfast is often crowded on the weekends. I was happy with the room accommodation and it was up to par with what you’d expect from a holiday inn express. My only complaint was that the hotel is under construction and there was no notice of this when booking. It wasn’t a deal breaker given the room but it definitely gave me pause when in walked in the door.
