  Hampton Inn & Suites Minneapolis University Area was a great stay. The staff was fabulous, the free breakfast was enjoyable, and the parking was easy and accessible. A comfortable and convenient choice for anyone visiting the area.

  What a thoughtful and cordial response to my original review. But lets review the response. First of all, I find it interesting that you have chosen to respond to a public complaint but not to my direct complaint to the desk clerk nor to two written letters. Second, the only reason I received a refund for one of the pet fees was because of direct intervention from the corporate office. Third, someone lied to my face. The desk clerk (I am withholding his name for now) told me the reason for the second pet fee was because of a change in corporate policy. I received an emailed response from the corporate office stating the policy had not been changed. But someone at your location actually changed the pet policy form charging a second pet fee. The statement from the desk clerk was not truthful. Was he acting on his own or had he been coached to give that response? In any case, this is not what integrity looks like. Yes, this incident made me angry. This issue could have been resolved easily with my original complaint to the desk clerk. Heck, if I had received any response from this location after my first letter I would have reconsidered continuing to stay at Hampton Inns. You have chosen to only respond to public reviews. I will continue to respond to any additional responses you may offer.

  Very disappointing experience with management, particularly Jeremy. I went to the front desk to extend my stay by one day, but he was unable to match the rate available to a Diamond member. I’ve done this many times at other Hilton properties without any issue. I even showed him a lower rate on the Hilton app, yet he couldn’t match it or offer a comparable option at the Hampton Inn instead of Home2 Suites. I’ll be taking my business elsewhere and will not recommend this location for our corporate stays. The Hilton Garden Inn down the street is far more accommodating.
