Everything was okay except the breakfast. You don't get good breakfast at hotels anymore. I expect more than some half assed rolled out bread, a waffle maker that is filthy, some crappy muffins, and dry sausage patties with stale bread. What ever happened to hotels giving you things without shelling out? Make a real damn breakfast at 6 am with sausages, eggs, actual food instead of the cheapest processed crap you could get... tired of patrons being expected to take what they are given. I expected a good breakfast. I paid 146 dollars for one night. I could have stayed at Embassy Suites and gotten world class breakfast for almost the same damned price. This is supposed to be a 3+ star hotel, not a 2 star pretending to be more. I'd have sooner checked out in the morning and gone downtown and eaten breakfast there. Everything else about the hotel was just okay. They barely gave us any towels. Hotels suck now. Thanks COVID. Everything in this country got worse after that joke. You can do worse but honestly this was a sub-100 dollar feel for 150 dollars. The only reason I would go back is the location.

Would have been five stars but the parking fee of $10 is ridiculous.

If you’re planning to visit the Mall of America, this place is just about a 10-minute walk away — you’ll just need to cross a busy intersection, but no worries: there are proper sidewalks and traffic lights all the way. The hotel itself is classic Tru by Hilton — bright, colorful, and instantly recognizable. Breakfast is exactly what you’d expect: decent variety, but like most American hotel breakfasts, it’s a festival of sugar and carbs with few healthy options in sight. Also, finding a seat during peak hours can be a bit of a challenge. On the plus side, the fitness center is surprisingly well-equipped — definitely above average for this hotel category. You can easily get a full workout in here. The pool is also fine, though it can get crowded since it’s not huge and quite a few guests actually use it. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Bonus points for the free popcorn in the afternoons — yes, they had an actual popcorn machine going! Coffee and tea are available 24/7, which is always a win. Parking is $10 per night. Now for the downside: soundproofing. Let’s just say it’s not Tru by Hilton’s strongest feature. We stayed near the ice machine on the 2nd floor, and it was loud. Add some airplane noise and the occasional neighbor through the wall, and you’ll get the idea. All in all, a good stay — clean, convenient, and with a fair price, we’d happily stay here again if the rate is right.

Great location and value. Not far from the airport and tram lines. Could walk to the Mall of America but they have a free shuttle service that picks up until 11pm.

I’ll give cons first: BRING A MATTRESS TOPPER!! -by far the most uncomfortable beds ever. We were in a king bed room and moved the first night to a queen. Wasn’t much better. Went to Walmart and purchased a $60 mattress topper to make it through our stay. Mike the night desk employee claimed no one has ever complained about the beds and they did not offer a topper at all. -Paying to park in an outdoor lot is by far the dumbest thing ever. Makes zero sense. The mall of America parking garage are free! You aren’t saving money by taking their transport there. Better off staying in the hotel connected to the mall if that’s why you’re there. $10 a night for outside parking is useless. -absolutely zero non dairy breakfast options to choose from. Even when we asked we were told no. No non dairy coffee creamer, yogurt, milk alternatives. Nothing. -no room service every day. You have to request it and no guarantee. Not only that but there is a QR code in the room to tip?! Tip for what? They aren’t doing anything unless you ask. -ice machine on our floor was down the entire time. -exposed plugs in the breakfast area and little kids everywhere. Huge liability. Pros: Customer service was nice. Rooms were clean and organized. Overall not a pleasant experience and will not be staying here again. No compensation for the terrible beds. Not even an apology when we asked to move at 11:30PM. Night employee Mike needs better customer service.
