Stayed here after potentially the worst hotel experience of my life at a Red Rash Inn and they were nothing but accommodating. The whole experience at Avid turned my trip around. Rooms are gorgeous, really nice furniture plus I couldn't even tell someone stayed there before me. Location is awesome with the Tim Hortons in the parking lot, 696 and Hoover is also pretty central to metro Detroit in general. TLDR; Avid is worth every penny, definitely gonna be staying here next time I'm back home for a visit.

Only after I showed them the email confirmation while calling my corporate travel agency for additional confirmation did they finally admit it was a common 'glitch' in their system. The front desk then made me book another reservation that same day, but at a significantly higher cost. They refused to accommodate the original booking price. Furthermore, while staying, I had a 'Do Not Disturb' sign posted on the door, clearly indicating I didn't want anyone entering my room. However, a staff member entered without authorization anyway. I regularly visit Warren, and with the many other nearby hotel options available, I will not be staying here again.

However, I stopped using this location after I experienced the staff coming into the room on 2 separate visits. They claim they have a 3 times knock policy then they come into the room. The 1st time it happened I understood. The 2nd time I stayed there, I asked the staff to not come in and informed them I didn’t want the room to be cleaned. I would do it myself. Well, I was in the shower and the manager walked in while I was coming out the shower. I was beyond upset and approached the manager in the hallway. She explained with an attitude about the policy. I told her I didn’t want staff to enter and she said it was the policy they check after housekeeping. The only thing that stopped me from punching her in the face was my son. The feeling of being violated after asking staff to not enter is infuriating. An apology would have cleared everything but it was the manager’s nasty attitude that made me say I would never visit the location again
