I cannot complain enough about this place. The front desk couldn’t even tell us where to enter the building at it’s unclear because there are 2 hotels in the same building which is basically a giant maze. Staff was rude and had no idea what IHG policies are. No hot tub, no microwaves, no vending machines, $18 for 3 drinks from their little shop. No gym, just a dirty yoga mat in the corner of the room. The room echos. There’s installation stickers on the shower door that barely keeps water in the shower. There is a bidet, but without ever touching it the toilet seat got hotter than the shower did. One of the outlets didn’t work. The TV is a Google tv that apparently has no sort of guide whatsoever. Basically, I can’t find a redeeming quality.

We had one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve ever had at EVEN Hotel by IHG.
After driving four hours for a quick overnight stay before an early event, we arrived exhausted and ready to check in — and that’s where the nightmare started.
The first room we were given was absolutely disgusting. It had not been cleaned. There was someone else’s waste still in the toilet and carpet beetles crawling all over the room. Completely unacceptable. We were moved, but the second room wasn’t even what we booked (we reserved a king and were given a double queen). After going back and forth multiple times, we finally got into a standard king room — nearly 90 minutes later. It was almost 10 PM before we could even unpack.
Unfortunately, the issues didn’t stop there.
The water pressure was awful — barely usable — and the water temperature lasted maybe five minutes of lukewarm at best, not even hot. The bathroom layout was cramped to the point where you hit your elbows using the toilet. Half the outlets in the room didn’t work. The fridge was completely unplugged. The WiFi didn’t work. The windows don’t open. The bidet had a rotten smell. There were crumbs on the floor. And yes — more carpet beetles.
The hallways were filthy with stains and food messes, looking like they hadn’t been vacuumed in ages. The layout of the hotel is like a maze with little to no signage. Parking was awful. Check-in instructions were unclear. Our “view” was a concrete wall — zero sunlight.
To make matters worse, housekeeping removed our Do Not Disturb sign and entered our room while we were gone. Completely inappropriate.
There were kids running through the halls to and from the pool nonstop, and people fighting at midnight. It felt chaotic and poorly managed.
Miranda at the front desk did try to help and was kind, but overall the staff seemed unconcerned about the severity of what we experienced. When I asked about a refund so we could go elsewhere, I was told it wasn’t her decision to make.
This stay was stressful, frustrating, and nowhere near the standard we expected from an IHG property. We will absolutely not be returning, and I would strongly advise others to consider other options.

In one word for the bottom line this place is fantastic. But here are some more words. Lol. I needed a place to stay although I live close by in Ann Arbor but my building lost heat and it's 5° outside. The decor and the remodeling of this hotel which at one time was the Drury Inn is absolutely outstanding. Modern design and elegant sophistication meet along with a staff that exudes warmth with an incredible sense of welcome. I have stayed in many hotels as I have traveled in 30 countries and all 50 states and I have to tell you I have never seen a more fantastic pool. The lights inside the pool change color so at night the water will go from pink to purple to blue to green and it's really very appealing from an entertaining and amusing factor. Everything is brand new including the gym with state of the art equipment. I wish to God that the treadmill was in my home. I walk on one every day but theirs is incredible. I had a great conversation with several staff members including Kris, part of the management team. Ohla checked me in in a very timely manner and offered great information. Her role is key because the first person I deal with when I am at a business is what makes the impression as to whether or not I am going to stay. At night I met the fantastic two gentlemen Amail and Spencer. We ended up talking for almost an hour sharing great stories. And then something happened that was hysterical. The gentleman who does the laundry, Wael, came into the lobby and Amail introduced me to him and told him how I was new. Meaning a new guest. So I was standing there in my sneakers and sweatpants eating potato chips and drinking a Coca-Cola. Wael appeared very pleasant until he was told I was new. Then the two men started speaking in a language I don't understand because Amail had to clear up a misunderstanding because I am not a new employee which is what Wael was thinking and he thought I was terrible the way I was conducting myself on the clock. LOL. He was relieved to know I was a guest. He is a great asset if you think about it because he wants his coworkers to have a respectable work ethic. I have no hesitation whatsoever in offering an enthusiastic suggestion for the beautiful boutique Even hotel for your next lodging destination. Regarding previous reviews that have noted the construction, I will tell you I was there on a weekend and it was extremely quiet with no workers present for the remodeling. From what I can tell there are 95% complete. They are in the final stretch of what was a huge undertaking and the payoff will astound everyone. Congratulations to all of you on your present success and I know there will be many more. God bless.
