My experience at Hotel Indigo Traverse City in October 2025 was both unacceptable and unsafe. I arrived late in the evening with a confirmed reservation, but the hotel told me they “could not accommodate” me and offered no meaningful assistance or clear transportation to the alternate hotel. I eventually had to walk nearly half a mile after midnight in poor weather to reach another property. As a woman traveling alone, this left me feeling completely abandoned and unsafe. What makes this even more troubling is that a colleague of mine was able to check into this same hotel just hours later with no issues. This raises serious concerns about whether I was treated differently than other guests. I escalated this to IHG corporate, but their initial responses were abysmal and delayed. Please make educated decisions about where you stay, and be safe.

To start this off - I am a finance professional who has stayed in hundreds of hotels over the past few years. I am hoping to keep this as objective and polite as possible. Apologies for the long write-up, but hoping to save someone from a similar experience. Stayed here for our honeymoon in October 2025 - confirmation #20440776, staying in room 326 if anyone actually reads these. The common areas of the hotel, upstairs and downstairs, are decent, but the rooms and service were extremely disappointing. The furniture and TV were dusty, the iron was cheap and barely worked, the workmanship is amateur (see pictures), and there was no microwave in the room. Somehow in 2025, the TVs still aren’t smart TVs. The Wi-Fi was slow or completely down on October 21, which made things even more frustrating. The front desk wasn’t any help, which became a theme of the week. For an $822 stay, the room felt very basic, noisy, with sealed windows that don’t open and little attention to detail. We requested turndown service after a “clerical error” the second night, and even after the front desk wrote it down, nothing happened the following night either. No housekeeping or service at all during our entire stay. The cherry on top was our key cards deactivating multiple times while we were there. For one positive note, we were offered a room change after the first missed service, but the couple we met in the elevator on the way down had the same experience, so we decided to cut our losses and avoid moving our luggage a second time. Customer service was abysmal, with no follow-through and no sense of care. Not even a simple drink voucher as an apology, unlike what other reviewers received, even after they admitted fault. This will probably be our last time staying at an IHG property for the foreseeable future. If you’re looking for a memorable experience, spend your time and money elsewhere. Boutique hotels consistently offer better service and genuine attention to guests. This property simply isn’t worth the cost. I’ll be posting this elsewhere so others don’t make the same mistake my wife and I did 24 hours after getting married. Beyond disappointed, and it truly ruined what should have been a perfect honeymoon.

Hotel Indigo has given me and my family the wrong room on too many occasions, the air conditioners smell of mildew, and the bathroom showers have black mold in the grout, and caulk, causing both my spouse and I to get sick. This is NOT a safe environment to bring your kids, let alone staying yourself. The working conditions can't be any better as I don't see any of the staff wearing masks OR gloves so they're inhaling chemicals as well as the mold thats in the bathroom whilst cleaning.
