  My wife and I were very impressed with this hotel. It was our first time staying here while visiting Traverse City. The only thing keeping us from giving 5 stars was the bed, a pretty important part of the stay. I know bed firmness is very personal and can vary from person to person, but for us we thought the beds were extremely soft. So much so that my wife woke up with bad back pain each morning, with it being worse on the second morning. Seems like the hotel could have chosen mattresses that were more midrange to satisfy a larger client base. For sure these mattresses are of the pillow top type, you "sink" into them when you lay down. A lot. I am sure some people look for this but we do not. The hot and cold breakfast supplied each morning was great and we took advantage of it. Also, the coffee was excellent and served 24 hours.

  I almost always stay here when visiting family in TC--great service, cleaner than clean, and great breakfast.

  Very nice accomodations and staff is very nice and helpful. Location is very accessable along main highway !!

  Very clean, nice location. Only one issue, at 3 am the heater fan started making a horrible noise and I had to finally turn the unit off in order to get some sleep. I told the front desk about it the following morning and it seemed like she could have cared less when I suggested that maintenance be notified. So if you stay don’t ask for room 429.

  As it’s only a few miles from my job, it saves me 82 164 miles every time I stay. Also being a college student at NMC, my attendance regardless of weather between the two are important, making my needs for a stay huge. After staying at multiple other hotels, I wasn’t met with complete satisfaction. Last winter, I stayed at Avid once, and made my decision that Avid was the place to choose every time. This Hotel specifically seems to have minimal amenities, however the stay is grandeur. Avid always goes above and beyond to make my easy night just that much better. I’ve had minor issues, however they were resolved immediately and swiftly. Huge kudos for the lovely front desk crew, as no matter the issue I present to them, they have a solution so that way I can continue my stay. Probably the first hotel in Traverse City to present a professional atmosphere at a great price, an amazing location, without the snarky Traverse attitude. Forever my stay if needed here 🫶
