- BWBeatrice WwOct 10, 20255.0Since I have been staying at hotels in the Holiday Inn group, I have been finding the hotels clean and the staff very helpful. This one was sparkling clean! And all of the staff were very helpful. And, something I haven’t encountered in other hotels, the room had much better lighting than usual! That was nice. It seemed to have good sound insulation; I forgot to ask for a room away from the elevator, but I actually never heard any noise from it. And, the outlets and usb outlets were good; the ones in hotels seem to wear out and are very loose; I’ve started taking tape with me just so I can charge my phone! It’s not something I would ever have thought I would be reviewing and hopefully hotels will catch on and upgrade to better quality. Such a little thing but a headache when they don’t work. Really nice that they worked here! It is set back from the highway, so there isn’t noise from that. It is in a very good location for access to restaurants and grocery stores. I didn’t get a chance to try the breakfast due to being on a quite late schedule, so I can’t review that. It looked like a nice eating area. I hope the Holiday Inn group will keep doing well, it’s been nice to have clean and easy places to stay, with very professional staff. Thank you!
- CRCharlotte RinderknechtOct 6, 20251.0The best thing about this hotel is its location, which makes it unfortunate since it's in fairly close proximity to shipshewana. The rooms had mold and mildew. The tub was very slick, making it dangerous for anyone but especially those of us who have a handicap. Thankfully the room was quiet. We did have to have the toilet seat fixed and the ice machine on the second floor didn't work. Handicap parking was limited and not very close to the front doors. Speaking of the doors they didn't have handicap access which for anybody makes it difficult when you've got a cart and you're trying to bring your luggage in to the hotel. There's one bright spot when we came back after a long day's work in shipshewana, the front desk person was the only one that bore a smile and greeted us. Everybody else it was as if they hated being there. I don't normally rate hotels but this one was the worst holiday in express we've ever stayed at and we travel a lot for business. We will not be back.
- LFLinda FazioSep 29, 20253.0The room was a nice size, but consistently damp or so humid everything felt damp. The rug felt so sticky I wore shoes the whole stay. The TV was a big problem. Every day either the sound or the picture was on the friz and I had to call the desk to try to get help. I would have appreciated it if the problem had been taken seriously and repaired properly the first or second time I reported it. We enjoyed the pool and appreciated the prompt cleaning and towel service when requested.
