Ive stayed at worse hotels, this is one is hit or miss for some people. Good things include close to the airport (about 5 mins by car), hotel shuttle to the airport every 30mins, bartender is really nice, beds are very confortable, rooms are clean. Bad things include, cleanliness could be better around common areas, maybe a new paint job would be nice, hotel kinda looks like a nursing home converted into a hotel. Overall I would stay again just for convenience when flying through Detroit.

I when I was pulling up my thought was this was a psychiatric hospital . Lovely lobby, lovely design in furniture. Room looks nice, bathroom was very nice. But there is no microwave in any of the rooms. You have to leave your room to use the one and only microwave in the building, no continental breakfast. Nice looking bar area didn't see anybody in their dining for food. My room was on the 1 st floor, and I'm by the elevator. To much noise kids running the hall around 10pm. Parking lot gets full. Kids walking around lobby with no shoes, or towels on . THE ICE MACHINE IS A COUNTRY MILE WALK, TO BE HONEST THE AREA DOESN'T LOOK SAFE , A ROOM WITH A MACHINE. LOOKS SCARY FOR A FEMALE AND LET ALONE KIDS . LOOKS ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐FIVE EVERYTHING ELSE IS A 2 STAR ⭐⭐ Location ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Staying at this particular hotel for a weekend wasn't that great of a travel experience. I stayed at this hotel for three nights....From Friday March 21st 2025 to Monday March 24th 2025. Everything that could go wrong, went wrong with this trip from start to finish. So, I'll start with the fact that I missed my morning flight with American Airlines, departing from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and arriving in Detroit, Michigan on the same day & morning. So of course I had to be rebooked at my departure city, for an American Airlines Flight departing later on that day. So, I actually didn't get to Detroit until later on in the evening & when I arrived & went to the shuttle pickup location at the Detroit Airport, what I found was that this hotel was the only one where you had to actually call for shuttle pickup instead of the shuttle already being in rotation like all of the rest of the airport hotels....Which I found to be really, really stupid. Why do we have to call for your shuttle when you already know that its travelers arriving from inbound flights waiting on the shuttle? Why advertise as an "Airport Hotel" & not already have your shuttle out in rotation? Just stupid & not a good business model at all!!!! Because of this I wasted a whole hour of travel time waiting on the airport shuttle that I had to call for with three percent cell phone battery life left. Then to make matter worse, once I arrived at the hotel & attempted to do check in, the front desk clerk claimed that she couldn't find the reservation under my name.....So I had to write down for her on a piece of paper my name, the confirmation number & the trip id number along with giving her my ID & apparently that wasn't good enough for her & she actually wanted to lay eyes on the actual reservation on my phone, in my email, which I found to be really weird & extra for no reason...But I complied anyway without saying a word because I didn't want the narrative to be that I am an "Angry Black Man" arguing & being aggressive with a woman. So, once I finally got upstairs to my room, the room looked nothing like the photos in the Chase Travel Portal & I kind of felt like I had been duped. The hotel itself & my assigned room wasn't necessarily raggedy, but you could tell that the hotel had seen better days when it was the "Delta Hotels by Marriot" before it was rebranded at some point & became this "Skyline Hotel" or whatever stupid name that they decided to call themselves moving forward. The only highlights of this stay....Was the hotel bar & the bar maid. The bar maid was really kind & really generous with the shots of Tequila. The shots that she poured were huge, so of course I felt that I was obligated to tip her well, which I did such.....She was more than deserving. Another highlight was the fact that I was on a high floor & facing the airport & the freeway. In closing, I want to say that the check-out process didn't go smoothy either & was just as weird, stupid & extra as the check in process. On Monday morning when I went to check out at twelve noon, when I approached the check in/check out desk & told the desk clerk lady that I was checking out & handed her my room keys....She asked for my name & my ID, so I gave her my name & as I handed over my ID, I asked her, why do I have to show ID to check out, that's weird & just as I was saying that, she said to me that she didn't have my reservation. I then told her, that I was checking out & what does she mean that she doesn't have my reservation???? Then her reply was that she thought that I said that I was checking in. At that point I was just looking at her like: "What?????????" I then had to ask for my ID back because she was holding on to it, like she didn't want to hand it over. At that point I then asked her could she call for the airport shuttle, as it was time for me to get the HELL out of that place!!!!!!! Never again!!!! Don't book the Skyline Hotel Detroit Airport SureStay Collection by BestWestern, book one of the other Detroit Airport Hotels.

I'm not sure why the photos and reviews are so bad for this hotel... I just stayed last night. This is the closest premium option for a hotel if you're stranded at DTW via Delta. Shuttle is great and timely; 15 mins from the pickup to the hotel, maybe 10. Easy check and out. Vending machines if needed. Restaurant was closed when I arrived (11pm). The room was great, although I wouldn't want to be on the first floor again. It was clean, orderly, and simple to navigate. Wish there was a tub, but only being in the room for 5 hours, I was happy the bed was 💯
