  I had a superb time at holiday inn express in lapeer. Room was cleaned thoroughly. Staff was welcoming and tendered to needs to the best of their abilities. Overall excellent experience.

  It was very clean and well organized. They had a group in the conference room and the employees would stop to see if they needed anything from time to time while they where setting up. I found out it was a group for service dogs and the housekeeper said they like staying in Lapeer especially because it's close to I 69. But non of the hotels are on a main road which I don't like.

  I am currently stay at this hotel paying approximately $800 a week, while I wait for my soon to be ex husband to move out of my house. I have diagnosed moderate to high anxiety disorder with panic attacks and PTSD from work related trauma. As well as going through a lot trying to divorce my narcissistic husband. Needless to say one of my “coping mechanisms” is smoking my physician has even told me to not attempt to quit smoking because of the way my life is and has been. I had an incident today with a member of the management staff Kirk. I typically have stayed at Marriot hotels, but there is not one in my area. I have on more than one occasion paid the $250 fine for room smoking with no issues. I only smoke in the bathroom and use air freshener etc… well needless to say Kirk took the initiative to knock on my hotel door and ask about my smoking (this is a first) I don’t deny it and agree that I will pay the $250 for smoking. Well, that was no satisfactory for Kirk a small end management member. We called the police and had them come up to my room pounding on my hotel door while I was getting ready to pick my kids up from school. Like wow Kirk, you really know how to show cooperative truthful guest with a ton of mental health and personal issues, what kind of establishment you are helping run. Needless to say, I will not be staying here much longer, I just paid another $800 to stay until the day after Christmas and guess what??? I am willing to just walk away and “waste “ my money than to be treated like this. I hope Kirk , you appreciate this review just as much as what you did to me today. I could not even explain to you why I do it, without crying.

  We visit family from out of state quite frequently and usually stay here out of convenience. However this past experience has me questioning if we'll ever return. Firstly, the room we stayed in was so dimly lit I was wondering how it could be cleaned efficiently. Next, the whirlpool tub had a hole in it that they filled with caulk. The room also appeared dirty; as it had large oil marks on the carpet. Then the toilet malfunctioned and continued to run and then wouldn't flush. Finally the tiles in the bathroom surround were missing and were haphazardly filled with caulk. I would expect this from a $60 a night room at Super 8....not a $150 a night room. Disappointed doesn't begin to describe it.

  Incredibly friendly and helpful staff. Especially front desk, even waved as we left.
