The front desk employees have always been the UTMOST supportive and helpful! Owner is a very genuine person and is good to the employees and customers. Would definitely recommend these two hotels over most any in the Kalamazoo area!

What should have been a straightforward situation escalated unnecessarily. During my stay, a housekeeping staff member knocked on my door before checkout. I told him the room was not ready yet. He then asked if I was staying another night and instructed me to go down to the front desk immediately. His tone felt rushed and dismissive rather than professional. When I exited the room, he said "thank you" in a sing-song, sarcastic manner, which came across as passive-aggressive. A few days later, during a phone call regarding the situation, staff used threatening language and mentioned law enforcement, despite there being no refusal to leave and no in-person conflict. I was also told over the phone that I was banned from all hotels in the area, which is not accurate and felt like an intimidation tactic rather than a clear explanation of hotel policy. After reading other reviews, it appears that issues with staff attitude, communication, and professionalism are not uncommon here. This situation could have been handled calmly and respectfully, but instead it became unnecessarily stressful due to tone, threats, and lack of proper communication. During a phone call days after I had already left the property, staff repeatedly referenced law enforcement and suggested police involvement. Given that I was no longer on the property and there was no refusal to leave, it was unclear what law enforcement could have done in that situation. This came across as a scare tactic rather than a realistic or appropriate response, and it unnecessarily escalated what should have been a straightforward communication issue. 10/10 do NOT recommend.

I told the manager every single day and they said they would clean the room the next day…never happened. Had a pile of towels 3 feet tall by the end of my stay, trash cans overflowing. Had to go down to get my own clean towels at the front desk every day. Pretty terrible service. Choose somewhere else where they care about the guests.
