I reserved a room approximately one month in advance that was advertised as being about 600 square feet and included a full kitchen, two bathrooms, and two queen beds. I have email confirmations showing that this is the room I booked and paid for.
After driving from Minnesota to Michigan, I checked into the hotel and was assigned a room that was clearly not what I had reserved. The room was roughly 300 square feet, had only one bathroom, and did not include a kitchen.
I returned to the front desk to ask about the discrepancy and calmly explained that, based on my confirmation emails, my reservation appeared to be correct on my end and that the room assignment must have been changed after the booking was made. The front desk employee, Randy, denied that any changes could have occurred.
When I asked for clarification as to why I was not receiving the room I reserved, Randy became dismissive and accusatory. He told me that if I continued to be “impatient” — which I was not — he would discuss my “card status” and eventually threatened to call the police if I did not leave. At no point was I being disruptive; I was simply trying to understand why I had been given the wrong room after booking well in advance.
Randy’s demeanor throughout the interaction was abrupt, unprofessional, and discourteous. Instead of attempting to resolve the issue or explain the situation, he escalated it unnecessarily. As a result, what should have been the start of a relaxing vacation in Michigan became stressful and disappointing.

Great hotel that is close to town! I enjoy the Pool, Hot Tub, and Sauna. I frequent here while in town and they always meet my needs.
The location is very close to restaurants, stores, and MI Tech. The hotel is about 1:40 west of Marquette, 50 minutes south of Copper Harbor, and 25 minutes away from no phone service.
Whether it be a comfortable bed, a beautiful drive, or the hospitality of the locals… I highly recommend staying here.

The staff were very pleasant, the rooms were very clean, and the beds were comfortable. However, the noise made it feel like the door and the windows were wide open. With both shut, I could hear people talking, not yelling, in the parking lot and in the halls.

Stayed there to go UTV riding. Was able to access the trail system by driving a few side streets.
