  We had a bookish ball here. Gorgeous venue that really made it easy to set the fantasy scene. I'm rating it rooms a 4 only because of the lack of microwave. They were clean and spacious. The service gets a 4 due to the iffy service at the "secret club". Location is convenient and beautiful, with attached parking. Lots of stairs in the building!

  The rooms are nicely appointed; old building is hit and miss as are the lower floor rooms at the tower. Be prepared for crowds. It is fun to stay there and enjoy downtown Grand Rapids, Broadway or other shows at DeVos. Parking on peak hours can be difficult even if you valet (plan ahead to retrieve your car) Try the higher floors, river view but don’t over pay for upgrades. Their speakeasy is fun but not very speakeasy.

  I specifically told them I wanted to be in the tower. When I checked in they put me on the old side which doesn't have a shower but a tub. I come up here every year for a show and they didn' even try to accommodate me ( of course unless I wanted to pay more which if they hadn't screwed up my reservation the price.would be the same). If I could get out of this and switch hotels I would.

  I've stayed in Hilton locations all over the world. The US by far is the worst when it comes to room quality and available amenities. I understand and appreciate they have deep historical roots at the Amway but for the cost the rooms are just not what I hope for when I stay away from home. One disappointing aspect of my own doing was that nothing inside the amway was open on Sunday. Even the coffee shop is closed temporarily. I will say the service here was excellent besides the pushy and somewhat creepy valet service we recieved. Aggressively pushing for a tip. Made my wife feel uncomfortable on multiple different levels. Will not be staying at this location again

  The hotel is located in a really nice spot. It is Central to a lot of places you may want to go including the Skywalk which is connected to the building making it easier to walk the town during the winter time or even those really hot summer days. We opted to have a tower view which was beautiful at night looking over the river with all the lights. The room wasn't necessarily large but just big enough for two of us. The bathroom was a bit tight and it was fairly dry and Dusty in the room. We attended an event that was hosted in the building making it convenient to attend while in the dead of winter with having the room. Plenty of food options available within as well and beautiful seating areas throughout the place. We attempted to use the stairs once and quickly discovered there was no way out forcing us to continue all the way down to the basement service quarters. That was quite awkward and strange, even security questioned us on how we got there...i guess don't use the stairs😬
