I checked in on a Friday about 5pm with my two children i got to my first room and noticed blood stained on one of their pillows which i then checked the bedsheets in room 413 where there was never washed mattress covers one bed had throw up or some matter on the side of its bed and sheets and urine stains on the other bed covers after calling the front desk and being told they had no room service staff on the clock they sent a women who was off her shift to verify my room with new sheets she didn’t feel right leaving me in that room and wanted me to move rooms the pictures are attached from the new room after waiting 2.5 hours for a new room(very short staff hotel) those bed sheets and mattress covers covered in urine! They changed sheets by this time it was after 8pm my kids wanted dinner they offered a comp meals for each of us i ordered a meal for myself and 2 girls no adult drink to be kind and they still charged me over $50 for my meals not comp everything like offered by Katie front desk! then Saturday comes we get back from our tournament trash cans in our room not emptied so i call the front desk about 4pm and was told no staff it would be a while for trashes to be emptied or clean bath towels they never came went to the lobby/front to retrieve my owns items! I filled out their text survey with no response! It would of been a nice hotel if they had proper staffing and actually cleaned rooms properly.. the bathrooms were dirty i would assume this being a branch off of Hilton to be on the nicer side no! First time and last time! Also elevators have a keycard for safety to use room key to be able to go up and down those didn’t work ever

If you need somewhere to lay your head for the night, this hotel suffices.
We stayed 2 nights for a hockey tournament. Check-in was quick and easy and the lobby is beautiful with high ceilings and a water feature but the advertised warm cookie wasn't provided.
The cons for us:
-Room was uncomfortably hot upon arrival
-Used qtip under bathroom vanity was ick
-Conditioner bottle empty
-3 bath towels for 4 people
-Toilet stopped filling with water (maintenance did come quickly)
-Very dusty and garbage under bed (clearly never move beds to clean properly)
-Pool was absolutely the grossest I've ever seen with a constant film of oily grease on the top
-Our hockey team was never informed a hot breakfast was provided for us. When we found out for day 2, it wasn't available the hours we needed it due to an early game. Why prepare a big breakfast for a group of guests and then not tell them about it or have it available the hours they need it?

Hour wait to just check in. You would think that on Valentine Day they would have more than one person working the counter. She was sweet, felt bad for her.

I was very disappointed with my stay at the DoubleTree Detroit-Dearborn location and I’m unsure if I will ever be willing to stay at a DoubleTree again based on my first experience. From the moment I stepped inside, the front desk attendant couldn’t have cared less to help check us in and welcome us. The DoubleTree is supposed to be famous for its fresh baked cookies at the front desk, and the three times I was there nothing was offered, to be seen, or smelled. From then on, walking to our room, the ground was soaked from the pool door entrance to inside of every elevator. Not only was there standing water both days we were staying, but there was no signage at one point to indicate a wet floor where I almost slipped the first day. We did not take time to check out the pool ourselves as there was a bunch of kids running around unsupervised and it was a milky white/cloudy color.
Once we made it to our room, everything looked good at first glance. However, it did not take us long to start noticing multiple issues throughout our stay. First, our coffee table had not been cleaned or wiped down. We noticed multiple stains between the window curtains (which were also ripped at the top and stuck together so we could not slide them apart to be open), and a stain on our bed sheet. The tub faucet in the bathroom also had a steady drip where each morning we had to hold up the drain stopper to drain the water. We also had a dripping in our fridge that ruined the food we had brought by leaking into all the containers. We tried to get ice for our drinks and tried the ice machine on three separate floors and not a single one worked. To top it off, the remote was so sticky that we couldn’t do anything but turn the tv on and off and press okay.
My biggest issue is how we were practically robbed blind at breakfast. When checking in, our attendant did mumble “your breakfast will run until 11am”. The way it was presented, you would have thought that breakfast was included especially with the price you pay to stay in a DoubleTree. We knew breakfast was in the Grille 39, so we checked out the menu online where it showed most breakfast meals around $18-$25, the only one not priced was the breakfast buffet. That morning, we went to the “restaurant” around 9:30am. There was not a single worker to be found the whole time nor the menu to order a specific item for breakfast. So, we walked up to the breakfast buffet thinking it was included in our stay and again, were disappointed. Our options included 1/3rd of a grey oatmeal, less than 10 pieces of the assorted fruit they had, there were two slices of white bread acting as French toast, both the eggs and potato containers were completely empty, and a few pieces of burnt bacon and under cooked sausage patties. Between my fiancé and I, in total, we sat down each with a piece of French toast, one piece of bacon and one sausage patty. As soon as we sat down, a worker came out and set a bill folder on our table and walked away again. We were surprised by receiving a bill at all, but the real kicker was that it was for FIFTY-THREE DOLLARS! We never saw the worker again after receiving our bill to dispute it, so I had to pay in full and left it at that. We ate out for every other meal after that and did not pay over $53 for an actual cooked meal sitting down at a restaurant.
We chose the DoubleTree for our stay due to its typically good reputation. Instead, we were let down at every turn and event. I hope that someone cares enough to reach out and try to amend things properly. I understand that not everything can always go right, but as a business, you should correct it when things go wrong.
