  Booked The Daxton in Birmingham for a wedding weekend and it ended up being one of the best hotel stays I’ve had in a long time. I’m not exaggerating when I say it might be the nicest Hilton hotel I’ve ever stayed at. From the moment we checked in, the service was incredible, friendly, quick, and on top of everything without being overbearing. The room was beautiful, super clean, and felt more upscale than your typical “wedding hotel” situation. The bed was absurdly comfortable, the kind where you instantly consider changing your life so you can sleep like that every night. I also appreciated the free waters and snacks, it sounds small, but it’s such a nice touch when you’re coming and going all weekend. We ended up spending a lot of time at the in-hotel restaurant and bar and both were amazing, which made the whole trip feel effortless. Phenomenal place all around, I’d stay there again in a heartbeat.

  The venue and rooms themselves are nice. What wasnt was that for the third time in four years we attended a wedding at the Daxton. During each of those visits, we experienced long wait times and subpar food. For the first two, I thought maybe, just maybe the wedding party delayed the process and the food was cold. But after this third visit, its clear its a venue problem. The mashed potatoes on the plate were cold and hard. The filet, was way over seared so it was tough to cut. One half was medium. The other half was well done. Im not even sure how thats possible. The salads on the table were of varying sizes. One plate had a hefty portion and another would be a kids size. Its disappointing, given how much these weddings cost that something like the food should be spot on. If we ever have to attend another wedding at the Daxton, we will make sure to eat before we go.

  The Daxton is a nice hotel with good service, nice finishes, and an effective event space. I was especially pleased by the friendly and helpful staff, all of whom went above and beyond to make our stay easy. The golden horse statue is tacky, but they seem very proud of it. The only downside is the ease with which one can hear neighboring rooms. I had the unexpected experiencing of hearing a Christmas movie late into the evening from the folks next door and all the wake-up alarms of those in the rooms next to and above mine. If you are a light sleeper, the Daxton may not be for you.

  What truly sets this hotel apart is the service. Front desk personnel I interacted with went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed. Their attention to detail and genuine care made my stay memorable. Customer service is better than in most 5 star hotels. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for comfort, great location, convenience, and excellent service!
