Reserved 3 rooms for New Year's Eve, sister's traveled from Farmington Hills and Lansing for a sister's night even with a unexpected snow storm. We found out there was a water main break that affected the hotel.... not their fault. However, upon checking in, I was told of the issue but they continued to check me in. Another guest came in amd the lady helped him during check in, she gave him the option to cancel due to no water, I did speak up and asked why I wasn't given the same option. No real reason was provided and I was still not asked or offered. I was puzzled. Then we found out after check in all the restaurants were closed but the bars were open. So now, snowstorm and no food.... I went to the bar, had a drink and the bartendar was kind. I asked around midnight if the water was restored yet and they replied that it was back around 9:30pm. They never communicated that to anyone. Frustrating. My stay would have been a 5 star if the staff handled the issue at hand effectively. I felt I paid good money for 3 rooms but wasn't treated like a guest. Oh and anyone reading this post. Battle Creek's downtown area was extremely lame with most places closed on New Years Eve, find a much more fun city to go to like Grand Rapids.
I just have to say this is a lovely place to stay! I traveled to town as a healthcare traveler helping at Bronson and am so grateful for Double Tree! The parking right out front is perfect. The front desk woman who checked me in was soo nice! (Wish I remembered her name!). My room was very clean and cozy. The gym is a great addition. The only hang up I had was no microwave in room even though I think that’s pretty standard as most hotels anymore. When I called down to inquire about a microwave in the lobby the desk was happy to help! Will definitely be staying here again!
My experience w/ this hotel has been terrible. I checked in for a work conference from November 5th until November 8th and needed to switch cards as I used my personal card to check in at the time rather than my work card. The following day, my card was presumed to be removed from check-in authorization and I received the receipt of my work card being charged.
A month later, I was charged through my personal card as Britney, the Front Desk Clerk, failed to remove it from being authorized. I contacted the hotel on Saturday, the day it was charged, and requested a refund which was promised. Britney claimed she would follow up with me each day to ensure it's processed, but has failed to do so. Instead, I needed to reach out to the Supervisor on Monday. The Supervisor claimed they would take a screenshot of the refund being processed and email it to me, but has failed to do that for me.
This place is incredibly unprofessional and are filled w/ thieves. I will ensure that no future conferences will be held at this establishment.

I think this hotel is really amazing. The rooms are beautiful, the restaurant is beautiful, and honestly everything is just so nice. The shower, the layout, the décor — perfect, perfect, perfect!
The only area that truly needs attention is the customer service at the front desk. When I checked in, my room had already been paid for in advance, yet the woman checking me in kept trying to charge my card for the full amount. When I showed her proof, she told me my bank was ‘lying,’ which I feel is not appropriate customer service. She also kept announcing that my card wasn’t going through, which could have been very embarrassing for someone. Later on, I came back to the desk and she realized she hadn’t fully checked me in.
At checkout, the front desk woman rolled her eyes and made facial expressions that made me feel like my questions were annoying her.
On the positive side, the Pantry was one of the best I’ve seen anywhere — such an eclectic and impressive variety of snacks and food options. I actually wanted to take pictures, but I was having such a great time enjoying everything else. And throughout my stay, I encountered several staff members who were absolutely wonderful. Even when I stepped out of the restaurant to report an issue with a restroom, the gentleman who helped me was incredibly professional. Many of the staff were truly outstanding, especially in the restaurant and around the building.
I really believe the front desk staff just need better hiring and training to match the quality of the rest of this beautiful hotel. Everything else was fantastic, and I definitely plan to stay here again from time to time.
I was charged for parking in my room and I paid at the parking lot so I don't know if that's normal. I feel like it was a overcharge. I'm not sure how much parking is but I was charged $24 altogether which is kind of steep.

This hotel has to be one of the best, if not the best hotel in the Battle Creek area. It has reasonable rates and the amenities are definitely worth the prices. The rooms are at the high end of 3 star hotels, with plush beds and pillows, an in-room fridge, an in-room coffee maker, a desk area, and plenty of closet and storage space for your clothes and belongings. The front desk staff are very friendly and go out of their way to accommodate your every need and request. They also have a 24 hour market in the hotel for all types of snacks, candy, chocolates, liquor, wine, cold drinks, and a Starbucks coffee making machine. There is also a 24-hour gym, a pool, meeting rooms, a top floor (16th) lounge/bar area (open Th-Sat), and an exquisite restaurant onsite (the Alloy) that has amazing old-school fire oven baked pizzas. It is centrally located in Battle Creek and anywhere you want to get to is usually no more than 10 minutes away. Whether you are here for business or leisure, you will certainly enjoy your stay here and you won't be disappointed.
