HallwayLighting was so bad that I could barely see the ice machine button. Got locked out of my room immediately after returning the cart downstairs. And the counter person, even though she was friendly, had no idea how to change the batteries in the door lock. After several calls, someone answered and walked her through it. There was no pen, note pad or laundry bag, which are some of the holiday inn express amenities I'm used to using. The room was clean but the hallways and elevator were not.

Standard HIE in Adrian. Pretty far from both colleges. Need a car to navigate to downtown and the University. Room was clean, fitness center in working order, breakfast was what you’d expect.

Stayed here over spring break while visiting from out of town with family. The room was fine but my issue was with the fact that a housekeeper came in my room when I know that I put the “do not disturb” sign on my door. I always do that first thing when I get to a hotel room. When you assume that nobody will be coming in your room and instead come back to find items moved and a note left for you, it’s extremely jarring. Brought it up to management, where she told me she’d check the cameras and get back to me. Never heard anything from her. My SIL’s family is from Adrian so I know we’ll be back but we won’t be staying here. Staff and management have little respect for the guest’s privacy if they’re going in the rooms without permission. Might as well have stayed in a hostel if I wanted to worry about my stuff being gone through for the rest of my trip.

Stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Adrian and overall it was just okay. The listing says “kitchen,” but what you actually get is a full-size fridge, a mini microwave (which had dried food in it) and a sink—with no dish soap, towels, or washcloths provided. The body wash in the shower was empty, and although I was told someone would come up to replace it, that didn’t happen until I tracked someone down the next day. Its quiet and clean as I witnessed even the door handles being cleaned off once people leave. Breakfast had a good selection however, staff should not be smoking cigarettes amd coming in and out preparing food. On the positive side, the location is great—close to a fun and beautiful downtown area, a few nice parks to walk and enjoy, and conveniently near everything else you might need like Walmart, restaurants, and shopping. Not a bad stay, but definitely some details that need improvement.
