  I thought based on location this may be a nice place for a kid free night away. It is not. The rooms are not clean. There was a big clump of hair right on top of the shower drain. The floors had not been vacuumed or mopped. The sheets were thread bare, pilly, and rough. The incidental charge was higher than the room rate lol. The kid at the desk could use some customer service training. They didn’t even ask for my credit card and just tried to run the one I booked it with without asking, which is a credit card security nightmare. 10/10 do not recommend.

  Rooms are better than the pictures. I knew the second I walked into the entryway and it smelled old it wasnt a good sign. IHG is a trusted brand that I usually have no issues with. The second we walked into the room I saw stains on the chairs, the room was not spacious like advertised, and the stairs and carpeting inside the hallways was filthy. One thing I look for in a hotel is if it smells clean and this place doesn't even smell like it had been cleaned. I travel a lot for work so I'm very particular and cleanliness. It was misleading because I read many compliments about cleanliness. Luckily, Expedia worked with me and I was able to move my 6-day reservation to different hotel. They issued me a night credit because the hotel would not refund me my money. Definitely would not ever stay here or recommend it. Unfortunately it gives the ihg franchise a bad name.

  Jamie/James (I can't remember) checked us in. He was quick with a good attitude which was refreshing after a long difficult day at the airport with a canceled flight, multiple delays, and lost luggage. The hotel room was nice , comfortable, and clean. Ive stayed in several candlewood suites and then was by far the cleanest and most comfortable with the best service and it felt safe

  South Portland location showing is age. Broken front door, dirty paint in hallways, broken heating unit in room, no shades, broken, rusty lamp, missing utensils, empty roll of paper towel upon arrival, hair in tub on arrival, broken ironing board. Avoid.

  The rooms themselves were nice. The location was convenient. Those are the only reasons this isn't a 1-star review. We had booked a room that would let us sleep 5 (2 beds and a pull-out sofa). When we arrived, we were given keys, but we had to ask where the room was. We walked across the parking lot to another building that smelled like onions (stairwell and hallways). We arrived at our room, and when we entered, the beds were unmade, and towels were on the bathroom floor. After clarifying to the young man at the front desk that we were indeed serious, we had to come back downstairs and across to the other building to get keys to another room. These keys didn't work, and the man came over to us with another set of keys. We finally entered this room. There were no sheets to be found for the fold-out, so we called the front desk again. Then one of us had to travel back over to get the sheets. After this, things were fine. At least until one of us ended up having a bunch of bites the next day. We're waiting on the results of a check for bed bugs.
