Through a 3rd party vendor I've used over 5 years & had no issues with, I booked a room in Sept '25 for a Dec outing which included free cancelation with 2 weeks notice. I cancelled 4 weeks before through the 3rd party site. In Dec, I was stunned when my husband asked me why we'd gotten TWO charges from Kennebunkport Inn on our credit card bill. I contacted the hotel & was told they don't honor 3rd party cancelations! I contacted the vendor to look into for me. I contacted our credit company to put a hold on the transaction. After sending documents confirming all transactions, they told us Kennebunkport Inn not only overcharged us in Dec but had also charged me half the initial fee in Sept. Kennebunkport Inn reimbursed the credit card for the overpayment but wouldn't reimburse for the original cost ... our vendor got stuck eating that charge!
MY POINT: EVEN GOING THROUGH KAYAK, BOOKING, EXPEDIA, etc. DOESN'T GUARANTEE YOU'RE GETTING THE SERVICE YOU THINK ~ ESPECIALLY WITH KENNEBUNKPORT INN. Would have loved to visit but that'll never happen after this experience with them!

Great place great staff. Only down side was the bed was like a lumpy sand bag. Location was excellent.
44th annual Christmas Prelude...amazing staff on the patio! Beautiful historic hotel.
This hotel used to be one of our favorites but in the past 2 years it has become uncomfortable and has fallen to the influencer trap. We usually stay here and boathouse, going forward boathouse will be the choice.
We have done birthdays, anniversaries, and a new years here. The staff is always lovely and in past when we had heating go out in a room, or like a previous review mentioned, stayed the bowing beds, they have moved us.
This past stay was the last for us.
Both nights we dealt with quite intoxicated people making noise at all hours, the second night with noise up til 3am. The restaurant staff is lovely but the food this year left something to be desired. When we stayed in March, we had a similar experience where one of the dishes was inedible. We are people who do not send food back and rarely complain, especially when the staff is so kind but this property needs some overhaul.
Beds, linens, paint etc all need replacing. While the location is great, the noise and influencer tourism have ruined the experience.
