My fiance and I had the most wonderful experience at the Grand Hotel on our special occasion. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. Our stay their will always be a memory we will never forget and the staff had a huge responsibility for that. I can not thank them enough for making the night so special. Thank you and we will definitely be back.

Horrible experience. Hotel and staff was nice but they said our kids were to loud and could not return. I would not recommend going here if you have children.

Warning. You may think spending $500 a night brings you a cut above experience. Not so. We had high expectations for our stay here. Located right in middle of Kennebunkport, The Grand Hotel promised a high end resort experience with all the amenities expected of a $500 a night stay. In reality we experienced the following: A smallish king bed room No staff to help with luggage and parking A room ac system that did not have a working remote control ( it’s the only way to control the mini split) No hotel staff on site to address this A bathroom fan the did not move steam out of the space, but rattled and vibrated like the rusted out and noisy ones you find in a Motel 6. Lobby, hallways and rooms smelled of fish, and I mean old, decaying fish, likely due to the first floor sushi restaurant. Based on the fish smell, the restaurant was a firm no for us! Starting around 9pm, our room was filled with the sounds of loud EDM dance music coming from someplace in the hotel, or just outside the hotel. This kept us from being able to fall asleep when we wanted to around 10pm. Again, there is no staff in the evening at this hotel to address something like this. A housekeeping staff that thought it was a good idea to spend an hour outside our room at 7:30 am on a Sunday morning banging their carts against our door and hallway walls. During check out, I asked the person at the front desk for the hotel managers business card or email address. She said she didn’t have that, but if I wanted to write a note on a piece of paper she could probably get that to the manager! I would not recommend staying here if you want a grand experience!

Rooms were nice and well decorated. We did have a few issues with the 2 rooms we reserved. The soap/shampoo/conditioner bottles on the wall in the showers were completely empty in both rooms. There was a partial roll of toilet paper on the roll in one bathroom and no extra rolls! And even though the ‘service please’ sign was left on one of the doors, nothing was done in the room. And FYI…the sheets could be softer, not scratchy. BUT after saying all that, the hotel was beautiful and in a great location! And the balcony was wonderful and the breakfast was good but could be better. Some of these issues could be improved if the front desk staff was on location for most of the day and evening.

I'll start this off with the fact I dont normally leave reviews, but felt compelled to write something honest about our experience -- Our room was lovely and location was great to walk to town, but other than that, there is nothing special about this hotel for the price. We paid more for our room to have a view/balcony and our balcony was tiny and didn't even have a chair and you were basically sharing with the neighbors next door with the way the fencing is. The website also fails to mention there is a shared balcony on the 2nd floor we could've used if we didn't upgrade our room that actually had a table and chairs. The bar across the street had live music all weekend that was SO LOUD. I am glad we were on the other end of the hotel, but we could still hear it loud and clear. The sushi restaurant downstairs made the lobby stink like fish... definitely should keep that door to the restaurant in the lobby closed. Very unpleasant. I get its summertime, but linens on the bed were super thin and no extra linens in the closet. Couldn't call for more linens since there is no front desk after hours. If you want to go to the beach, the only way to get towels is to go to the sister hotel which is out of the way from the beach. At least two towels should be left in the room for convenience, especially paying over$400 per night. And the $20 resort fee... trying to figure out what this covered since there were no amenities at this hotel aside from bikes. Breakfast was enough to get you started for the day, but nothing special. Again the room was pretty and nice location for walking downtown, but there are better options for less money after doing research after the fact.
