  Awful horrendous 295 traffic sounds all night long. No sound barriers. We asked for a 3rd floor room and got the absolute worst one. So much for getting any sleep. 2 stars because Pool was warm. But very dirty. Complimentary breakfast was ick.

  Conveniently located, staff are friendly and very helpful. Our room was very clean, spacious, and the bed was comfortable, nice TV. The included breakfast was ok. Our room faced the highway during this stay, noise levels from the I-295 highway throughout the overnight was horrendous to listen to while trying to sleep. Some could argue that we should’ve expected the noise levels while located near the highway. Two weeks ago we stayed overnight at an Embassy Suites hotel next to Logan Airport in Boston, where you could hear a pin drop inside their hotel room, it was ultra quiet, thanks to sound-absorbing materials throughout their rooms, we never heard noises any aircraft flying or loud road noise. This Holiday Inn in Freeport does offer room options facing Route 1 as opposed to the highway. I am willing to give that a try in the future.

  I have stayed here before and always had a nice comfortable stay. It was recently renovated and the hotel is much nicer. The staff was helpful and kind. It is very clean and cozy. The breakfast in the morning was very well done and makes this location an exceptional value. I will definitely be back whenever I’m in the area!

  Headline: Health Hazard - Bedbugs, Filth, and Broken Amenities Rating: 1/5 stars Our stay at this Holiday Inn was beyond disappointing; it was a legitimate health hazard. We checked into a room that clearly hadn't been cleaned in quite some time. There were crayon marks, scum, and unidentifiable smears all over the walls. The bathroom was equally repulsive, with old hair and grime on the faucets, handles, and shower walls. The sleeping conditions were unacceptable. The sheets on the pull-out couch hadn't been changed—we found old hair, black specks, crumbs, and even a Sharpie folded into the mattress. The mattress itself was stained brown and so worn that the springs dug into our ribs. To make matters worse, we discovered bedbug bites on our family after returning home, particularly all over our child’s legs. The room’s climate control was broken; despite being set to 60°, the room stayed at 78°. When we tried to use the heat, the air quality was so poor and smelled so bad it caused us breathing difficulties, forcing us to turn it off entirely. Other issues included: Gym: Only one of the three machines worked, and the room was a stifling 80° and the remote for the temperature did not work. Amenities: The phone was broken, and the general lack of hygiene kept us from even attempting to use the pool. The only saving grace was that the breakfast was decent and the other guests were pleasant, but that does not make up for a room that was fundamentally unsafe and unsanitary. Avoid this location at all costs.

  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Stay at Holiday Inn Express Freeport and Brunswick I had a wonderful stay at the Holiday Inn Express Freeport and Brunswick. The hotel was very clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The staff were friendly and welcoming, always ready to help with anything we needed. The rooms were spacious and quiet, with very comfortable beds that made it easy to get a great night’s sleep. The complimentary breakfast was a nice bonus, offering a good variety of hot and cold options to start the day. The location is also very convenient, close to shopping, restaurants, and local attractions, making it a great place to stay whether you’re visiting for business or leisure. Overall, it was a pleasant and relaxing experience. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting the Freeport/Brunswick area.
