Stayed here for a few days. Had a mostly good experience. Docking a star because for some reason the front staff felt it was necessary to call me three times before 9:00 AM for check out even though it is at 11:00 AM and stood at my door at 10:15am like a door to door salesman asking me if I was aware that checkout was at 11 AM. I answered the phone but my room phone did not work. I guess the staff telling me check out time during check in, the check in time being written on my key card holder, or the time being shown on my third party booking site wasn’t enough. I really hope this is not a part of policy. Get it together.

I was pleasantly surprised when it came to the location. I assumed it would be hard to get in and out but it was not. I parked in the parking garage and when I did leave I had no issues. The staff was very friendly. My key wasn't working initially but someone came right up and fixed that issue for me. The location was perfect for where I was going and according to Google there were walkable places to eat. The rooms were very clean, the price was very reasonable, and the beds were comfortable. I would definitely stay here again!

Stayed here last October and thought the location was great. I walked from the heart of downtown Silver Spring without any real problem and I was even on one crutch at the time. Easy walk to nearby restaurants and Target as well just crossing the border into DC opposite direction.
The staff was very friendly and I did partake in the breakfast spread which was exactly what you'd expect it to be. I appreciated the non-dairy milk options available. I would stay here again if for a short stay. The price was reasonable.
Took off a star because I did book a single king room directly through their website but upon arrival was told those were sold out and given a double queen room instead. Didn't effect much for me in a practical way, but not sure why it happened. Also, you could hear everything happening in any room when walking down the hallway. The only noise I heard from inside my room was the family in the connecting room. The kids were very rowdy quite late at night, but I'll place the blame for that on the parents and not the staff as I did not call in a complaint or anything.

I just wanted to send a shout out to the amazing staff and say thanks for a great stay. I arrived right before midnight after a long drive from NY and Luther helped me at the front desk. No reservation as I didn't know if I'd make it all the way there or have to stop at a rest stop along the way since I was worn out. I was here in April with family as this hotel is pretty close to where I have business dealings when in the area...had a great experience then as well and that's why I found my way back. You guys are like my Toyota-- affordable and always dependable-- and all the employees are consistently helpful and a pleasure.
If you want a decent , affordable spot with a small, comfy room, a good full breakfast, and proximity to MD/DC, this is it. To me, folks complaining about this hotel have unrealistic expectations for a sub-$100/night stay. If you're looking for fancy and want Lexus/Mercedes/Bentley level amenities (vs. Toyota Corolla or Camry) then you shouldn't be coming to the Holiday Inn anyway-- hit off the Waldorf, Ritz-Carlton, or St. Regis.
Special shout out to the security guard who I remembered from the last time and he had the same helpful attitude (I can't remember your name, boss-- sorry). And Afsaw, Elise, Gregoria, and all the rest of the crew-- especially the breakfast lady who came out of the back to ask me if I wanted anything else from the breakfast area before she shut it down since my back was to it and I was still eating. THAT'S customer service right there! ;-)
I'll be back!
