We have stayed here at least once a year for several years. Although a little on the expensive side, it's worth it. Great jacuzzi tub in the room. Rooms are large and balconies are private

The hotel itself was great. The room was clean, comfortable, and overall the property was well maintained. Unfortunately, the staff experience was very disappointing.
My children got stuck in the elevator for more than 20 minutes. During that time we asked a staff member named Brian for help. He told us he had never dealt with a situation like that before and was unsure how to handle it. He offered no reassurance or guidance during a very stressful moment. We ultimately had to call the fire department ourselves to get assistance.
While we were waiting for help to arrive and for my children to be removed from the elevator, Brian was walking around laughing and talking as if nothing had happened, despite knowing that my children were stuck. There was no empathy, sympathy, or effort to reassure us during the situation.
The hotel itself was nice, but the way this situation was handled by staff left a very negative impression.

While the room was lovely, and the view was amazing, and even most of the customer service was great, I have to give a 1 rating after experiencing the most outrageous homophobic and racist interaction by the staff in the restaurant. My girlfriend and I were completely ignored after being seated. There were 2 servers who waited on customers before and after we arrived and waited. We never received a “we’ll be just a moment”, no drink order, nothing. We waited well over 30 minutes when they were not busy at all. After a table was sat next to us with a white heterosexual couple, their drink orders were taken immediately, we left. We told the front desk who comped our room $25. No apology, no addressing the behavior, absolutely disgusting. If you’re not a white heterosexual couple, expect to be treated like you’re not worth their time.

Amazing Hotel stay on the Boardwalk with more than a junior suite. Full kitchen with large family room & eating space. Walk in shower & whirlpool bath. Linens on comfortable mattesses & large outside patio balcony with table & chairs. Large pools inside & outdoors. Restaurant with freshly made food, poolside. Gym, Laundry, Bar
I recently stayed at Holiday Inn & Suites Ocean City location with a group of friends, and overall, the experience was mixed.
At first glance, the hotel gives off a really nice impression. The decor is clean and modern, and the views—especially from the balcony rooms—are honestly beautiful and one of the highlights of the stay. I also appreciated the 18+ check-in policy since I’m under 21, which made the trip easier to plan.
However, there were a few issues that affected our experience. When we first arrived, the room didn’t seem to be cleaned thoroughly, we found a pair of used socks near the bed by the window which was disappointing. The shower setup was also a bit uncomfortable since it doubles as a jacuzzi and isn’t very adjustable.
Service was inconsistent—one staff member was great and helpful, but another was noticeably less accommodating. We extended our stay and checkout time, but there seemed to be a lack of communication among staff, as we were still rushed out and treated a bit rudely when leaving.
The hotel layout is also a little awkward. The pool is small, not very deep, and located right next to the restaurant instead of being in a separate enclosed area. The tile flooring around that area is extremely slippery, and the caution signs weren’t very visible—I actually slipped and had a minor injury, so that’s something to be aware of.
The breakfast options were also underwhelming and not very accommodating, especially compared to what you might expect from a continental setup.
Overall, while there were definitely some downsides, the views and overall ambiance were nice enough that I would consider staying here again. That said, I would skip the restaurant and make sure to confirm any extended stay or checkout details ahead of time to avoid confusion.
