Extremely Disappointed —
Safety Should Come Before Profits I am deeply disappointed with my recent experience at the DoubleTree in Ocean City, Maryland. As a tropical storm approached, city officials issued warnings for moderate to severe flooding, with conditions compared to Hurricane Sandy. Out of concern for my family’s safety, I made the responsible decision to leave early and requested a partial refund for the unused portion of our stay. To my disbelief, the hotel refused. It’s incredibly disheartening that during a serious weather event, when residents and visitors alike were being urged to take precautions, the hotel prioritized profit over guest safety. I felt as though my family was expected to remain in harm’s way and risk our well-being just to avoid losing money — a stance that shows a lack of empathy and sound judgment. Natural disasters are unpredictable, and policies should reflect understanding and flexibility in such circumstances. This experience has left a lasting negative impression, and unfortunately, I cannot recommend this property or the management behind it.
Pat at the front desk is only genuinely good part of this location.

The bed is not comfortable!! Mattress was very worn and sagging. We had to have someone fix a broken bathroom mirror. The person I spoke to at the front desk said “if it’s that important to you we’ll see what we can do”. They did end up fixing it. The dining room is very understaffed with a lot of dirty tables. Wouldn’t stay here again.
