Hotel is a mess! Poor service and card key system is needs major repairs. Advertises free breakfast but you wake up and it’s locked and never opens. If you do not like the smell of marijuana - find a different hotel, because this hotel stinks of marijuana.

A truly remarkable experience at this Holiday Inn Express, which was the very first place we pulled over when we needed help.
We arrived with our 7-year-old in the middle of a serious meltdown and needed to call for assistance. Bri at the front desk was incredibly calm, compassionate, and completely non-judgmental. She helped us immediately and treated us with grace during a very stressful moment.
The officers who arrived were gentle and reassuring, turning what could have been overwhelming into a moment of care and safety.
We stayed the night and extended our stay. Jay, the manager, was wonderful, and the next morning the front desk staff helped us search for lost car keys with warmth, kindness, and shared laughter about motherhood. Breakfast was outstanding — biscuits and gravy, pancakes, cinnamon rolls — one of the best hotel breakfasts I’ve had in a long time.
The hotel is newly renovated, clean, and close to everything. When asked how my daughter was doing, my response came naturally:
“You guys were the medicine she needed.”
Highly recommend this Holiday Inn Express.

Straight up 5 star review for a cost effective hotel. I was driving from Raleigh, NC to Boston when my hands started clinching up, making it unsafe to drive much longer. After I guzzled a couple mustard packets at the Chesapeake House to relieve the seizing I called the hotel, there was one room left that fit my request so I zipped over in 5 min and got the room. The attendant, who was very kind, went above and beyond to secure all the qualified discounts. The room is clean and has all the features I like. I'm sure I'll enjoy the free breakfast, which is always substantial enough to add considerable value

SCAM ALERT!!!! I went to check in less than a hour before normal check in. I was told it would be a $50 fee because housekeeping is still cleaning. So question, if a room is available that you can charge me a $50 fee to check in early then please explain to me what the issue is?
I have stayed at many Holiday Inns and usually check in early. Never have I been asked to pay an additional fee!

The hotel is nice but the staff is another story, the owner is very arrogant, the housekeepers need to learn that there are always ears listening, even if they think it's a private conversation. I specifically heard a housekeeper talking on the phone about things she planned on taking from another room so I wanted to let the manager know before it happened, later when I asked to speak to the manager I realized it was the same lady I heard talking on the phone, her name is Jill, and she is the manager? Isn't that convenient!! I can only imagine how much stuff has came up missing on her shift and it makes complete sense why she still has her job. The owner needs to reevaluate his staff.
