A great area to stay when visiting the Baltimore/Maryland area. Conveniently close to the airport and surrounded by excellent restaurants. The hotel includes a pool, gym, and serves good food.
Every time Icome home yo Baltimore, I stay at this location (several times a year. It maybe time to choose another spot. I setup my reservation a week in advance requesting a king room. I arrived right around 3:00 to check-in. As always I request a high floor. For some reason the young lady refused to meet my request and placed me or the 3rd floor. When I get to the room, it was a double and not a king not to mention it was right near the elevator. I go back to the desk, and now had to wait in long line. I said, I requested a king, but you gave me a double. She tried to say that's what I made the reservation for. So, I had to pull up the reservation in my phone to prove her wrong. I again requested a high floor, but she said they were reserved for other guest. Mind you I was the first to arrive. She changed the room to a king keeping me on the 3rd floor. Not going to tell you how missed I was to later walk through the lobby and hear a white dude request a high floor and to hear no objection. Yes, let's take my business somewhere else where they value Hilton Honors members.

First and foremost this is my second time here staying with a friend, a hotel charging for parking morning the city is ridiculous. To have a “shuttle service” but no coverage or letting guest know upon arrival is kind of a big inconvenience. Checkin in late to have to wait because systems are down, second time it seems something is wrong when it’s not enough staff for an evening. That’s higher ups, I think the health department needs to come and check out the kitchen because the food… mid and to see fruit flies coming from the back my god I wouldn’t feed some of this food to my dog. The breakfast should be free if it’s going to be cold. The kitchen staff apologized and told me I could go up to the second floor and see how it is for homewood. The only things pleasant was from the guy at the front desk looks stressed but still tried his best to accommodate us. He was whiling to run up and down just to make our needs meet with the room. I asked the young man “long dad” he said he laughed and said you have no ideas. Sometimes I wonder why I choose to stay at hotels that are not fully serviced. Still I would not recommend eating here as well just staying seems like a poorly ran hotel.
Seriously the health department and corporate needs to make some changes.

So I was in Maryland last month and stayed at the SpringHill up the street and wasn’t very pleased with the service or the hotel.. So skip to this month in town for a family holiday party and decided to stay here. Not quite sure how I missed EVERYTHING being à la carte but MY GOD! Check in went ok , could have been a little more welcoming but no worries. Now to the next thing, the bed felt like you were sleeping on a wooden dresser, hard as hell. Like are we even serious type hard! Lol Idk what prison beds are like but if I had to imagine I’d say this is a close second! Next thing , I have to pay to park on your premises? I get it if this was a resort or like Orlando/ Disney but be serious for two seconds. Just another reason to get money and you are literally parking yourself and they are not responsible if anything happens while YOU are parked on THEIR property! Crazy when they have surveillance but okay! If I’m paying it should be a secured lot. Smh Breakfast you have to pay and let me just say don’t waste your time. Just go ….. ANYWHERE else. Ummm lastly the best thing is the location because it’s kinda in the middle so it’s close to Annapolis and Baltimore and also not far from DC! So it just works. Also very nice inside, clean, smells great, has a bar, offers dinner and a happy hour although we didn’t try those. Overall I will just say this is not the hotel for me and I should have not rushed and really looked over ALL the details.
I usually start off by saying "I had the LUXURY of staying at"...but this was NOT the case with Hilton Garden Inn Hanover Arundel Mills BWI Airport. Service was HORRIBLE! I called the hotel to inform them of my arrival. I was initially told to wait at "DOOR 15." I waited, and waited. I called again, I was told the van was on it's way. I waited and waited. I was standing outside in 30-degree weather for nearly 3 hrs waiting for a van. I called again, only to be told the van came and did not see me, because I was not at "Location 15." I proceeded to trudge between the 2 areas (by the way, "Door 15" and "Location 15" are not a hop, skip and jump from one another!). Having to take medication at a certain time, I called again and shared that with them. I continued to wait. Finally, I got a cab. When I arrived, I asked to speak with the manager. Again, I waited. Finally she appeared. When I explained my ordeal with the van, that's when she informed me they only had 1 van operating that night. As I wondered why they did not initially tell me that during an earlier call, I was supposedly "compensated" with two 20% off dinner and a drink card. $20 which I paid for the cab would be credited to my room. But the kicker is, when I went to place an order for my dinner, I heard another guest say they were given a "complimentary" (free) breakfast card! All this confirmed to me that Hilton Garden Inn Hanover Arundel Mills BWI Airport did not value me as a customer/guest. I do not know what I did to deserve such treatment, all I wanted was to be picked up and taken to the hotel to get some rest after a 5 hour flight. The next morning as I was checking out at the front desk, I noticed a "Staff Manager" (?) standing by while the initial manager was printing out my receipt and reminding me that $20 would be credited to my room (because of last nights trauma). Now normally, a "professional manager" would have said "On behalf of Hilton Garden Inn Hanover, we apologize for the ordeal you experienced last night, your night's stay is on us", or "Your next nights stay will be on us." Instead, he just stood there scrutinizing me as though I was a microbe under a microscope. Normally, I enjoy staying at Hilton, but this is the first time that they truly made me feel unwelcomed! But there is one "GOLD" lining to my review - a young man by the name of "Lamar" was working at the bar "SKILLFULLY" making drinks for his customers, engaging in conversation with them and was able to take my order for dinner. Even though, it was a very brief interaction - he was the only one there whom made me feel WELCOMED and to be a valued guest!!
