Attention all parents: Do not book this hotel on a weekend. It is located right next to a bar that has live bands cranking until 1:30 am, closing time. There is no sound machine, ear plugs, or anything that's gonna help your kids sleep through it. If you want a sane mind in the morning, there are several other hotels right nearby. The other silly part of our stay was the lack of heat in our room. It never kicked on. Sold out hotel so no other room to transfer into. The breakfast is insult to injury. $17 for an adult and $8 for a kid for a lousy waffle with fake maple syrup and some burnt coffee. I have stayed at enough Hilton properties in almost every nook and cranny of the US to have been a Diamond member for almost a decade. This one takes all the cake in one shot. Please spare me the copy paste customer service appeasement apology email. The place is an asset that is serving its purpose, making some money, while providing the lowest possible level of quality that can y'all can get away with. Its not a mystery or secret. But get this: A marvelous Hyatt (with included breakfast), Holiday Inn and Best Western are located all around the same area. You are fungible. Maybe you should act like it.

We were exhausted after driving south from CT, the holiday traffic was so bad, it took us 7 hours just to get outside of DC, so we booked a last-minute stay at the Hilton Garden Kent Island. Tim at the front desk was friendly and kind. He made sure we had a room we wanted, and was helpful answering our questions. The dining options were great and the hotel was immaculately clean and welcoming. Highly recommend!

I chose the Garden Inn Kent Island because I’ve passed it many times and thought it looked like a nice place to stay. I finally had the opportunity and took it. I should have read the reviews more carefully.
The rooms are clean and comfortable. As a Diamond member, I received an “upgrade” to a suite overlooking the bay—lucky me! Unfortunately, that meant the southwest corner directly facing The Jetty Restaurant, which has live bands on weekends. I didn’t know this when booking or checking in.
Check-in was slow, even though I had checked in online. The staff member seemed either brand new or completely over it. When I asked about the restaurant'ssse hours, he said the chef probably didn’t show up. He was right—no food service that night.
Later, the live music started. I called the front desk and was told the band plays until around 1 a.m.—every weekend. So much for a quiet night. Earplugs weren’t readily available, but I was offered a white noise machine instead.
Between the closed restaurant, disinterested staff, and nightclub-level noise in my “upgraded” room, this property fell short on every front that matters to travelers: service, amenities, and rest. The view is lovely, but I’d trade it for a decent meal and a good night’s sleep any day.
