It’s less than 10 minutes to downtown Frederick. It’s inexpensive. The fridge was a good size. Wifi was free. That’s about it for the positives. Thankfully, we had only a one night stay. I think the thing that bothered me the most was the “bathroom” consisting only of a toilet and a shower with a combined area of a small closet. The sink was in the main room next to the actual no-door coat closet. Also, the bathroom door in our room didn’t shut all the way. The beds were queen-sized, but too hard for me to sleep comfortably. The remote didn’t work properly. The heating unit was LOUD. And despite the fact that they had a DIY waffle-making station, the free breakfast was bland; the scrambled eggs were too hard. Finally, I think it would be advisable for BW’s regional heads to make a secret visit one day to see what some of the staff are doing in the 6am hour when breakfast is starting. I was going to take a picture, but decided against it, since I won’t be coming back to this Best Western again.

This is a great spot for a one night stay on the road. The staff was friendly. The breakfast is great. The rooms are a bit small and the bathroom could use a refresh, but they're fine for the price just to get off the road for the night. And it's very convenient to US-15 and I-70. Would stay again on our way through Frederick.

Nice hotel. Breakfast was a bit lackluster I feel, but only other bad thing was the horrible TV service. Barely any channels.

Got checked in. Went up to the room, opened the door and was hit by a strong smell of cigarette smoke, room was dirty, and the bed was not made. Clearly housekeeping didn’t clean the room. Immediately went downstairs and told the front desk. He just said “that’s weird”. No apology was given. Gave us a different room. This room was fine in the sense that at least it didn’t smell like cigarettes and the bed was made. The shower and tub was gross, covered in grime, gunk caked in the cracks, and discolored. Shower curtain was yellow it was so discolored. The air conditioner barely worked. The fridge had not been cleaned. The sheets and blanket had some black lint and dirt on them. The bed was SO HARD, the hardest bed I have ever slept in. The pillows were small and not great. There was a strange brown stain on the ceiling. The hallways were loud with people slamming doors. Breakfast in the morning was not great. The milk for cereal was sitting out in a pitcher. Only two types of cereal. There was no fresh fruit. There was scrambled eggs, sausage, and biscuits with gravy but none of it was good and all had a weird texture. Best thing was the waffle maker honestly. The yogurt comes out of a weird machine. The sitting area was small. No elevator so if you are handicapped or have heavy bags, have fun getting up the stairs. Only thing this place has going for it is the proximity to downtown. The “Historic” is code for old, rundown, and gross unfortunately.
