On the night of my stay with family and kids, I was unexpectedly asked to move from one room to another. This request came at a very inconvenient time during the night, which caused significant discomfort and disturbance. Such a situation disrupted my rest and affected my overall experience at your property.

The room we got was pretty old with wallpaper pilling. Felt a bit dirty. Breakfast has berries and that was the only good thing about it. I forgot my AirPods in my room and they quickly located them and saved them for me to get after a few days when we passed again, so really appreciate that!

My stay (May 2025) was among the worst hotel stays I've ever had. When we checked in, the hotel could not generate keys. For the next day, we needed to wait for a maintenance guy to open our room. Sometimes quick, sometimes not. Once, my son had to go to the bathroom and, naturally, that was our longest wait, which was embarrassing to him. This is aside from the large hairball that was underneath our sink when we arrived. I have a photo. On day 2, my friend checked out and shared with me that he got a very large portion of his bill deducted for the trouble. I assumed I'd be treated the same way when I checked out the next day. The person at the registration desk said I'd get my invoice via email. I was shocked to see a $400+ charge on my card. I hope that Holiday/IHG plans to make this right so I don't have to raise the issues elsewhere. I have already lodged a complaint, which was sent a few days ago and I have not yet gotten a response. To be clear, I do not blame the staff. They tried really hard under difficult circumstances. The maintenance guy couldn't be everywhere at once. He kept showing up sweaty and out of breath, so I commend his efforts. But that doesn't change the fact that we couldn't access our room without waiting for help, which is unacceptable and should have been fixed BEFORE I received a bill.

I wanted to love this hotel and I'm sure that it had its day...but from my first impression, its been nothing but a disappointment. When we arrived (8pm) there was not a single employee in sight. Finally a girl in jeans and t-shirt with sunglasses on her head emerged and checked us in. She was friendly enough. The daytime desk staff has been less than helpful but the afternoon/evening staff is very friendly. Room is very narrow amd hard to navigate bathroom is very dirty with water splotches all over the wall and there are dirty finger prints everywhere. Furniture seems fairly new but the beds are hard as a rock. Definitely not a good night's sleep. There is no way to adjust the temperature in the room and its been uncomfortably hot. Walls are thin and the noise in the hallway was constant. Now for the worst part...the lack of hospitality by the Saturday morning breakfast staff. First they basically told me I should leave because "breakfast is $19" said like they didnt think I could afford it. Then I told them I had a voucher because breakfast is included with my room. This angry looking woman was standing there the whole time overseeing everything and yelling at everyone. She snapped at me embarrassingly loud when I tried to get my kids excited about hotel breakfast by showing them the omlette station which they were apparently not allowed to eat from. So they can take as much food as they want from the buffet but not a made to order egg fron the gentleman who wasnt at all busy. And she was beyond rude. Not to mention that the weekday breakfast was the same NINETEEN DOLLARS without any omlette station or waffles. Basically worse than a free breakfast you would normally get at any hotel. When I booked the room I specifically called to ask if the pool was heated and she told me on the phone "yes its very warm". It was NOT AT ALL warm. The water was actually freezing cold to the point where we couldn't use the pool at all during our stay. Every part of the hotel has a different weird smell. For real. Like fish and lemon and mildew all mixed together in different concentrations. The bar is another story as well. When we arrived on a Thursday there was a random selection of what looked like local drinkers scattered with beer bottles throughout the lobby of the hotel and a couple of them at the bar. The bartender was less than hospitable when asked a question. Then Friday night they had live elevator music in the bar. I've never quite heard anything like it. Saturday I thought "hey maybe ill grab a drink on my way up to the room". Waited 5 minutes and never saw an employee. Front desk said that was normal?? Saturday there was an event in the ballrooms with some sweet little kids having a little too much fun at a party. The manager was screaming at them and even grabbed one to yell at them. Horrible. Overall this hotel is exactly what you pay for. Cheap. Poor service, poor amenities, poor housekeeping, poor facilities. I thought I might be pleasantly surprised but that has not been the case at all.

We recently stayed at the Holiday Inn College Park as part of a group, and the experience was disappointing from start to finish. Before even arriving, I had a few basic questions related to our group stay. Unfortunately, the interaction with “Michelle,” who presented herself as a manager (but was later identified as a front desk supervisor), was unhelpful and dismissive. We were repeatedly told that only the group organizer could speak with them, and despite requesting a call from ownership, no one ever followed up. Once on-site, the experience didn’t improve. While a few front desk staff members were pleasant, others seemed poorly informed and unable to assist with basic questions. Parking was a major issue. The lot was completely full every night, and we were actually told to park in no-parking zones along the curb because there were no available spaces. For a hotel accommodating groups, this is completely unacceptable. The condition of the hotel itself was also below expectations. The carpets were dirty, and the rooms were extremely small compared to other hotels we regularly stay in for hockey tournaments. We travel often for sports and stay in hotels frequently, and this was one of the worst experiences we’ve had. Based on this stay, we would not return and would think twice before booking another Holiday Inn.
