I stayed at Hotel Indigo for two days and had a wonderful experience. The hotel was clean, quiet, and offered excellent service throughout my stay. I’d especially like to thank Mr. Ben, who assisted with room service and maintenance requests with great patience, making my visit even better. Highly recommend!

Loved this place. Most chain hotels are a sensory vacuum. In fact, I often feel like I’m in a beige conspiracy that was designed to make you forget where you woke up. Not this one. This place has real personality and a boutique feel. The lobby is a curated mash of historic architecture and modern (slightly hipster) swagger. Real art, birdcage chairs, and larger windows that let the Baltimore sun expose a space that is genuinely beautiful. Staff was great. I showed up in the "wrong" jersey, and the staff didn't give me a scripted greeting… they gave me a hard time. That’s the high-water mark of hospitality for me: when the person behind the desk is human enough to heckle you for your baseball loyalties. The room was wicked quiet, which is no small feat when the city is bustling right outside your window. It was clean, comfortable, and leaned into the local story with Poe-themed art that managed to not feel like a cliche. We definitely enjoyed being in easy walking distance of many destinations. Breakfast rocked. The crabcakes benedict and the seafood omelet didn't taste like typical hotel food. The kitchen knows what they’re doing. And the Old Bay Bloody Mary, ordered extra spicy, is a beautiful wake-up call that pairs perfectly with strong coffee. I’d be happy to stay here any time I’m in town.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was disappointing from start to finish. When we checked into our room, the shower floor had a yellow stain that looked disturbingly like urine. This was the very first thing we saw. We immediately called the front desk and requested a different room, which they provided, but it was already a bad sign for the hotel’s cleanliness standards. The location is technically “downtown,” but the area around the hotel feels unsafe. There were many homeless individuals constantly walking around the entrance, which made it uncomfortable to unload luggage or wait for our car. It did not feel secure, especially with kids. The biggest issue, however, was what happened after checkout. I accidentally left behind an expensive, dry‑clean‑only sweater. I called the hotel right away, and they confirmed they had it. They told me to send a prepaid shipping label, which I did—at my own cost of about $25. When the sweater arrived, I was shocked. It was completely ruined. The fabric was stiff, glued together in places, misshapen, and smelled like someone’s perfume. It was very clear that it had been washed and machine‑dried, despite being a delicate item that only needed to be placed in a bag and shipped. There was absolutely no reason for anyone to wash or handle it beyond packing it. I contacted customer service, and the response I received was dismissive. They insisted they “did nothing,” even though the condition of the sweater speaks for itself. It is now unusable and destroyed. This is unacceptable handling of a guest’s personal property, and the lack of accountability makes it even worse. Between the cleanliness issues, the uncomfortable surroundings, and the mishandling of my belongings, I cannot recommend this hotel.

Oh my gosh how lovely this hotel is, and the top it off the staff. Truly the best staff I have encountered while staying at a hotel and I have stayed at many many hotels. It’s so personable here and to me that’s the most important thing. Feels like family !

Stayed at Hotel Indigo this past weekend with my husband and 2 toddlers and had a wonderful stay! Firstly the staff is SO NICE . I have never stayed at a hotel where everyone was so kind and helpful. Our room was clean, spacious , and was perfect for us and the kids. If you can add the breakfast vouchers while booking its so worth it. Poets was super delicious and made breakfast so easy especially with small kids. Cocktails were also super yummy. The hotel is 1 block from the Walters Museum which was beautiful as well as super close to the Basilica . Lots of food options around Mt.Vernon too there really is something for everyone. Inner harbor is walkable but we chose to drive down though parking can be a lil pricey. All around great trip to Baltimore! Would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting!
