The William Fell Baltimore, Tapestry Collection by Hilton
This hotel lies literally in the heart of Fell's Point in Baltimore's downtown historic district. That's both good and bad. Good, in that you have a lot of boutique shops to explore, and taverns to choose from. One of the latter I patronized, the Alexander Tavern, served up some very tasty Maryland Vegetable Crab Soup. You will find at night the police make a show of force. That's clearly because things can get a little rowdy. But the police presence reduces the nighttime threat level to "Acceptable For Adults." Daytime seemed perfectly fine, but still for adults only as its almost impossible not to run across someone who is not carrying portable music blaring out profanity laden lyrics. My room at The William Fell was of standard size, not overly big but comfy, very clean, with a nice bathroom and extremely comfortable beds. That was a good thing because although I selected for heat (it was in the 50s outside), I could only detect it on one time in the early morning. There was maid service every day, which I appreciated. The connected restaurant, The William Fell Tavern, served up tasty food at a not too exorbitant a price, but ran out of crab (in Maryland!) halfway through my stay, which was a disappointment. The background music for the tavern is also piped into the Lobby. This resulted in raucous music quite out of character with the dignity of the hotel. I think their soundtracks should be separate. All in all, The William Fell is a nice place to hang your hat while visiting Baltimore, particularly if your focus is on their downtown attractions.

Incredible service, staff, and atmosphere!!! We hosted our rehearsal dinner and welcome drinks at the William Fell Tavern and our wedding guests stayed in a room block. The staff and management were SO SO accommodating and made our night so special. Highly recommend!!! Thank you Widny, Melissa, Meg, and Malik for such a memorable night!

The absolute best spot in Fells Point to stay. Rooms are very nice, the location is awesome and the service is fantastic. I can't forget the Anchor Bar, it has the best bartender in Fells.

Very nice place, historical building with nice upgrades. The bed was pretty firm, so if you're used to that and like it, you will sleep great. The door to our bathroom was warped and wouldn't close all the way, but it wasn't a huge deal for us. The beds had white sheets that were nice, both on top of the cover and under it, so there was no feeling of skeeviness about germs. The people in the front desk areas were very helpful and friendly. The valet price was pretty steep, but there was no other real option for parking and everything we wanted to go to was walkable so it worked out fine.

As a Hilton Honors member, I was very disappointed with my recent stay at the William Fell. My stay was charged twice, once on each of the cards on my account, the TV in my room never worked during my stay, and when I requested fresh towels, housekeeping simply tossed them on the bed and left all the used ones in the room. I also emailed the hotel with this feedback over a week ago, prior to posting here, in hopes of receiving a response or at least a partial refund, but I never heard back. For the price, I expected much better service and accountability — I would recommend staying elsewhere.
