I ordered a room with a king bed prior and checked in late. We go to pick up the key and the lady gave me a key to a room with double Queens. My partner called downstairs once we got to the rooms because I don't understand why we didn't get the room that I paid for if it was available. I specifically purchased the king because my partner is 6'8 and I need him to be comfortable too. So we had to come all the way back to the lobby to trade out the room key she should have just given us the first time.

Enjoyed my stay here. Wouldn’t match the third party booking price so I booked it from the lobby and waited for the reservation to pop up in their system. Could use some renovations but overall everyone was really kind. Would stay again!

Very nice historic hotel. My room felt historic (pedestal sink in the bathroom, faucets that I could understand) but was spotlessly clean and very comfortable.
Dinner at the LB Tavern was just okay - good service but tepid crab soup and a burger without much flavor. It was good to eat in the hotel, though, as it was brutally cold out.

As a housekeeping note: l've posted this review before and was responded to. The hotel reached out with concern and said they wanted to make things right.
This was a fairly inexpensive room, but after my experience I don't think they could charge much more than they did. Upon arrival we were really astounded by the beauty of the lobby and the warm welcome from the front desk. Stephanie was truly amazing and tried helping my party the best she could. the other gentleman at the front desk was very anti-social and generally looked at us with disdain. We are a group of younger people, and places like hotels are often unfriendly, but I feel like Stephanie was the only staff member that took us seriously. While checking in we were told that we had been given a room upgrade, from our 2 double beds to a suite with a king, queen, and pullout bed.
After checking in, we went up to our room on the 16th floor. There was trash everywhere and the sheets were visibly dirty. I called the front desk and Stephanie said she would sent the housekeeping folks up to help us out. We waited in the other room of the suite while they did their jobs. The housekeeping staff was really great, and as we had other problems housekeeping helped us with, we realized these two (very kind and hardworking) women were the only cleaning staff on duty for the night. I realized there was no second bed, only the king and a extremely dirty (some mold and stains underneath) pull-out. The pull-out took up almost the entire floor space in the second room, it was very uncomfortable and the bar stuck into my back all night. Since the sheets looked as if they had not been changed, I slept on top of the covers with the provided blankets--which did look clean. We still needed one more bed, and when I called the front for cleaning, I also requested a cot after they insisted there were two beds and a pull-out. The cot took over 2 hours to arrive, and we were READY for bed, but just sat and waited for the cot (which ended up being clean and quite comfy). Due to the many issues we had with the room, we were assured that the parking fee would be taken care of. After checking out we asked how the parking would be waived, and the man at the desk said we could just enter out ticket and drive out. When exiting the parking garage we still had to pay. Due to the exhausting check-out process and the long drive ahead of us, we decided to just leave. We will be contacting them regarding the parking fee and room quality.
TLDR: Hotel is beautiful and in a good location. The rooms are the least clean part of the hotel. Stephanie is the only staff member we could count on. Cleaning staff was friendly and quick, but seem to be short-staffed and our room was not ready when we checked in (trash, dirty sheets, used toiletries, dirty mattresses).

This hotel is a bit outdated and I get it because it's a historical place but its sorely reflected in the cleanliness of the bathroom and other facilities. Mold is all over the shower tiles. I also don't like how they charge $35 for an "early check-in fee". It puts a stain on the whole stay and makes the hotel appear less hospitable. At least other hotels you have a loyalty program or a rewards program that offers certain perks, essentially this hotel has no perks for folks who are repeat visitors and it seems like a cheap money grab. 4pm is pretty much the evening time and during my time there it was freezing outside. Negative wind chill, dangerous snow conditions on the roads and sidewalks but I should pay a fee to get to my room early when it's ready? I was placed in a small room with a bed directly next to the window and no matter how high the temperature in the room was, I had goosebumps because I was freezing. There was zero insulation. I also booked this staycation so I can relax and watch cable. The first room I was placed in didn't even have cable nor was the TV working and I called and let the front desk know, the person mentioned an "engineer" was coming to fix the issue and an hour+ later, it never happened. I ended up getting moved to a different room that night because I advocated for how cold it was and the new room had a working TV, but initially it was so much back and forth with the front desk. Makes for a less enjoyable experience. I will say the were kind in the fact I forgot some items in the previous room and they made sure I received it safely. This is a great location if you're exploring Baltimore but there may be better options for a similar price point that's more hospitable. The tub was draining slowly and the water didn't get too hot. So it wasn't even luxurious in that sense because every time I got in the shower, I couldn't wait to get out because there was water pooling around my feet, hard water pressure and weird temperatures. There was also hair in the shower when I arrived. So for all the "early check in fees" and waiting until after 4pm to ensure the rooms are "clean" it seems my room was barely up to hotel standards. The comforter was also a mess so I just didn't have a positive experience.
