We were very disappointed in the room, the furniture was worn, dirty, stained full of bacteria and outdated. The bed and pillows were very uncomfortable. We are Hilton Honor Members and have stayed at homewood suites before but this location needs improvements and updating.

I recently stayed at this hotel and feel compelled to share an honest account of the experience. The hotel accepts government vouchers, which I fully support in principle, but the reality is that this has contributed to a noticeable decline in how well the property is maintained. Unfortunately, the current level of wear and tear throughout the rooms—damaged and stained furniture, dirty carpets, and holes in the comforters—makes the stay far below an acceptable standard. While the staff were consistently polite and helpful, the overall condition of the hotel suggests that it is not being cared for in a way that ensures a comfortable environment for any guest. The property either needs a significant cosmetic renovation or a reevaluation of its current policies to ensure it remains clean, safe, and well-maintained. At this time, I would not stay here again unless improvements are made.

I booked through booking.com with Free Cancelation. I had an unexpected family emergency where I tried to cancel more than 24 hours within my reservation time. When I tried to cancel, the circumstances seemed to change and it was no longer free Cancelation. I attempted to contact rhe facility multiple times. The one receptionist was kind but the manager seemed curt. After leaving a voice mail and calling back, I was told to contact booking.com despite booking.com telling me to contact the property directly. Booking.com contacted on my behalf and although free Cancelation was apart of the terms they denied the request. This is very upsetting on top of an already tragic situation. I realize after going through paperwork it was free Cancelation within 24 hours of the booking instead of the reservation. The hotel had opportunities to help with a free Cancelation or honoring moving the dates and they would not.

Traumatic Experience and Lack of Accountability – Homewood Suites by Hilton Baltimore My family and I had a deeply distressing experience at Homewood Suites by Hilton Baltimore. Despite following every instruction given by the front desk, we were threatened, pressured, and ultimately forced out of the hotel without a clear explanation. On October 7–8, 2025, repeated miscommunication among hotel staff caused unnecessary chaos. We were told to move rooms, then told not to, then told again to move immediately. When I asked for reasonable time to repack after already spending hours packing and unpacking, the staff threatened to call an armed security guard if we didn’t move fast enough. Terrified by that threat, we hurriedly packed in fear. Even after moving as instructed, my family was suddenly evicted. As we stepped into the hallway, we saw an armed guard watching us. My son, a Johns Hopkins University student, became extremely anxious and said, “They’re going to kill us.” He suffered a severe anxiety attack and was taken to the ER immediately afterward. I contacted Mr. Kenneth White, the General Manager, and later Ms. Donna Balch, Executive Ambassador at Hilton Corporate. Both acknowledged my inquiry, but Hilton’s final communication stated that the matter was “resolved and closed.” No confirmation was provided that any CCTV footage, incident reports, or internal staff communications were reviewed to verify what actually happened. This was not a simple inconvenience. It was a traumatic and unsafe experience that caused real emotional harm. The lack of transparency and accountability from Hilton Corporate made it even more difficult for our family. I’m sharing this to help ensure no other guest experiences fear or intimidation in a place meant to feel safe and welcoming. I sincerely hope Hilton Corporate takes this event seriously and reviews its internal procedures with empathy and integrity.

Pros- Fantastic location Clean Friendly and helpful staff Incredible fitness center with pool Hot breakfast Perfect option if you basically just need a spot to sleep in between explorations so Cons- Limited breakfast options may be a struggle for picky eaters Super tiny rooms, cramped for 4 Very limited pool hours on weekends Limited staff for urgent needs Shower fixtures could use an update Location- I chose this hotel because of the location and I was not disappointed. Harbor East is beautiful with lots of shops and restaurants, and walking distance to the aquarium, science museum, and several other attractions. The parking garage is a block away but is connected to the hotel via elevator which was great for the rainy days. Room- When traveling with kids I always try to select hotels that offer some kind of kitchen and separate bedroom area for privacy. I booked a 1 bedroom with a king bed and a pull out couch. The room was very small, pretty cramped for 4 people. We did not plan to hang out in the room much so it was adequate for our needs. The main bed was comfortable but my kids said the mattress of the pull out couch was a bit thin and they could feel the bars under. It must not have been too bad though because they slept very soundly. Overall the room was fine. Hotel- The included breakfast is very small but the hot options they offered were delicious. The first morning they had some kind of shredded pork alongside their eggs and the flavor was phenomenal. My kids are pretty picky so they didn't care for most of the foods available and more or less stuck with cereal. The MAC fitness center is available for use during your stay and it is amazing. They have free weights, machines, dumbells, pickleball courts, boxing bags, a squat rack, plenty of cardio options, and two lane pools, a family pool, and a hot tub. The only negative is that the pool is hardly available on weekends. They're only open from 7-4, and the pool is reserved for swim lessons from 9-12. My youngest was really wanting to swim and we were unable to do so until our last day. Housekeeping came an extra day unexpectedly so I hadn't done any tidying to the room at all and they organized the heck out of it. They really took their time, washed the few dishes that were in the sink, gathered and organized all the kids' things left in the sofa bed and remade it, and even organized the items on the bathroom counter and the snacks I'd left lying around the kitchen. The room looked so great when we returned. We did have one strange issue while staying -- the keypad to our door died and we were locked out for a while. We discovered the issue on the way back to the room from breakfast just before 8am. The front desk expected maintenance to be there shortly to assist but unfortunately they were not able to be reached and we had to sit in the lobby for about an hour and a half until someone could replace the battery. Waiting around and trying to entertain two kids in the lobby that long was pretty frustrating but the staff was sweet and helpful, and were very engaging with my youngest while we waited. They did offer us a few things to make up for the inconvenience. Then it happened AGAIN the next day!! Luckily that time maintenance was available immediately and I only had to wait maybe 5 minutes. Overall the hotel was clean and everyone we interacted with was incredibly friendly. Despite the cramped rooms and the weird situation with the door keypad and missing maintenance staff, I would choose to stay here again.
