Now, going into this I had no idea what to expect. Still don't for certain matters. However I've been excited to visit The Lego discovery center since it opened in Boston. Ever since I was a kid I wanted nothing more than to visit Lego land and see an entire place dedicated to creativity and my favorite plastic bricks. Once one opened close to home I fell in love with all the advertisements and the general idea of the discovery center. I grabbed tickets ahead of a visit to the city a week back and was really really disappointed with my experience. It was kinda heartbreaking. The store itself was cool, I'll give it that it's probably the best organized Lego store I've ever been in, but the selection was really small and the sets all seemed like those you'd expect to see at gift shops. Granted, it was pretty much that. The store was cash only though, granted with a cash converter, but frankly just an inconvenience given that. They also had custom minifugres, however their selection felt really limited and specific. Cool if you want to build grandpa or a pirate woman, but if you're trying to make anyone you might know your options are limited to a few very specific facial features. They have a machine that advertises custom figures, however this was only for custom torsos and the process was kinda elaborate. Had to go to a clerk to purchase a box before you can make the custom figure, which is opposite from their new pick a brick which just has you build loose figures. It was a little confusing and tedious for the store, but nothing terribly long and they didn't charge for cash conversion which was nice. However we couldn't find the discovery center itself anywhere, and when asked was told pretty abruptly that my partner and I weren't allowed. We asked why and were told we needed at least one minor with us to enter. Understandable, and they were able to issue a refund thankfully. However the website selling the tickets really didn't say much. I was a bit more preoccupied with trying to figure out the difference between the vr tickers, photo tickets, and all the other offerings and will admit I missed the fine print. A major disappointment to be honest though, was told they have adult nights certain Wednesdays but being an adult working during the week have to say it's not likely I ever will get to see the Discovery Center. Probably great for families but adults are probably better off at a normal Lego Store.

We had 2:30pm tickets on Veteran’s Day. The space was too small for the number of people inside. The line was insanely long for the “ride.” It seemed very understaffed- from the time I had our tickets scanned, to when we exited through the gift shop, I saw exactly two employees on the floor. One was dressed up as a character and the other was escorting the character. The stations seemed low on legos making builds very difficult. Overall, I was not at all impressed, and it was definitely not worth the cost. I will not be returning.

The place itself is okay, I like how they have something for every age. But the staff is so rude, even to little kids. I don’t understand working in a place like this and being rude to a 2 year old. I will not be coming back.

Took my grandchildren age 7 and 9. It took a bit to figure out what to do but they thoroughly enjoyed the open play. A little guidance was needed on a few areas, but once they figured it out they were having a great time. The 4d movie was fun. The ride was short but we made a game out of shooting the laser beams to get the highest score. The car area was fun and building a rocket and using it as a laser beams was fun. We hope to make it an annual event.

I am giving a 1 star review based on upon my recent experience. I had gone to the store with my girlfriend on 11/2/2025 somewhere in the afternoon, anywhere from 2-4. My girlfriend wanted to go here to see if you had the
Star Wars Gingerbread AT AT.
As we did not see any out for display, my girlfriend asked one of the associates there if this was available. The associate, who had a short sleeve shirt, tattoos on his arms, and glasses stated he would check out back. He came back to the sales floor and expressed his apologies that they were not available. However, there would be a shipment coming 11/4 and held in the back. He specifically stated there would be 18 coming in and not going directly to the sales floor, given space constraints. I thanked him for the information and said I would return either 11/4 or 11/5.
I tried to call in earlier on 11/5 at approximately 12:15 p.m. given the numbers provided on Google, and followed all of the prompts. Unfortunately this led me to a customer service representative who was offsite. She had placed me on a hold after I given her the product description, and she was able to find the exact item. She then informed me that she was also not able to get a hold of someone from the store. I expressed that my mother who works in the area, would still stop by, given what my girlfriend and I were told by this individual on 11/2. She was kind and also stated she would send me an email if she was able to get an answer soon.
My mother went to the store at approximately 1:00 p.m. on 11/5 and asked about the Star Wars Gingerbread AT AT. The associates stated this item was not a part of the shipping manifest. I received a call from her and stated exactly what I was told and what this associate from 11/2 looked like. As I was on speaker phone, the associate called to the storage room to confirm this item’s availability. An associate then stated it was not part of the shipping manifest. I expressed my frustrations, as well as my mother expressing her frustrations, given what I was told on 11/2, and for her to go there and be informed the item was not even shipped.
Overall I am extremely frustrated with (1) being told it would be available and in the the back, (2) not being able to call directly to the retail store to speak with someone on site to confirm availability prior to anyone entering the store, (3) also being informed it was never on the shipping manifest to begin with. Furthermore, I am more frustrated the associate from 11/2 told me very specific information regarding the item.
I am not sure exactly when you will get this item in, but it would mean the world to me to get this item as a gift for my girlfriend. I would also hope that associates who do check for items being delivered to the store can be much more transparent, or rather more vague, as providing specific information such as it was confirmed 18 would show up, and then not even being shipped at all. This leaves me not wanting to shop directly at this location, and honestly prefer to just shop either online or elsewhere.
