I have stayed at Hampton Inns for decades and I got to say, this was a massive disappointment. After I checked in (staff who checked me in was very polite and professional, but don’t remember his name). I went up to my room and found hair in the bathroom in multiple places and the bathroom counter clearly hadn’t been wiped at all from the last guest. Additionally, I pulled the comforter down and there was hair in the sheets (photos included for both). I went back downstairs and asked for another room. Same person who checked me in was perfectly pleasant and provided a new clean room.
Second night, I came in on Christmas Eve after a long day and the key to my room didn’t work. I went to the front desk and CeCe didn’t hear me approaching the desk because she had her AirPods in. When she noticed me I said “my key isn’t working” in a perfectly pleasant tone, which she replied to with a blank stare and as if I should figure it out on my own and asks “so do you want a new key?”….I said yes, but the attitude didn’t stop there. She asked for my ID, which I happily provided (as one does) and she said that isn’t the name on the room. Mind you, I checked in with my ID the previous night without issue. She then pumps up the ‘tude with her tone, facial expressions and lack of professionalism and I finally asked “are you alright, because you have been giving me attitude since I walked up here” she said “you had attitude since you walked up here.” I said “when I said “my key isn’t working?”” She said “yes; you don’t just walk up here saying that”. I was truly flabbergasted.
She FINALLY figured it out, gave me a new key with a side of sass, and then acted as if nothing had happened. No apology, just “have a good night.” Cece seems unwell.
Overall I would never recommend this place to anyone.

This is now my go-to when I visit Salem. Has the feel of a 5-star hotel at a fraction of the price, and the free breakfast buffet is respectable. Heated indoor pool. A dozen restaurants within walking distance.
There is a little street noise on occasion if you get a room close to Washington Street.

Hotel is in a great location near everything & walkable to it all in Salem. However I gave it a 3 star due to after a exhausting flight arrived at hotel 3 hrs early of check in time, tho my room was ready in order to access it I was charged a $50 dollar fee. The front desk lady was not helpful at all, it was basically take it or leave it attitude. I was tired & paid it. Room was clean but the carpet had burnt holes and Tiolet tank top was cracked in half. Linens were musty. It was just to sleep. I will look else where next time to actually enjoy my sleep. The beds were not comfortable and pillows were ok.

Right in the middle of where everything is. Everything was within walking distance which was nice, cause good luck finding parking if you’re trying to drive 😂 the room service was awesome and they serve a full breakfast every morning. There is a pool but we didn’t go to it.
