Last ten years i have been coming from Maine to Massachusetts to see my grandson 1 weekend a month. He is non verbal autistic.. Because he loves the pool and has a special diet i ALWAYS get a room/suite with a kitchen and a pool. . Not happy at all. Reserved this " suite " because of the pool. My grandson loves the pool. 2 days before check in i got an email stating that the pool was closed. Had i known that I would have never have gone there. When I get there and get to the suite the kitchen is completely empty of all essentials. Plates, cups, cutlery, paper towels etc. I have never had a suite that advertised a kitchen not have the basics. I brought all the food but had to go find plastic silverware cups, napkins and plates in the lobby.
Entered the room and it was hot, I mean unbearable hot. Turned downt the heat and nextorning found the heater was leaking. 1/8 of the carpet was soaked. Towel racks in the bathroom fell off the wall. The vent in the bathroom, which is located right next to the bed, roars like a freight train non stop. Extremely disappointed in.my experience with this hotel. There is a reason I don't go to motel 6 anymore but I would probably go there before this holiday Inn again.

The staff was nice, as always. 🙂
HOWEVER, Room 444 was awful. The AC sounded like jet engines every time it kicked on, which was about every 15 minutes. We couldn't shut it off unless we wanted to be super hot or super cold.
Bring your phone charger plug! Not a single USB port in the room.
There was no microwave, the bathroom vent could not be turned off and was so loud. There were exactly 2 cups, two coffee pods and no working ice machines on the 1st, 2nd, or 4th floor. The pool was out of service.
We stay in IHG hotels a lot while traveling and this one was the worst we've seen in a few years.

The entry space is dimly lit. The elevator probably needs servicing; made metal on metal noises, buttons did not light up, door function was very delayed, when lading at the floor the elevator jolted), I found a needle w/thread laying on the heater/ac unit, no ceiling lights in the standard room, the only overhead light had blown bulbs, and the refrigerator smelled like old food, and the outlets were caved in and sketchy. Shower water was nice and hot but had mediocre pressure. Beds were comfy. Curtains were easy to close and open. And the room was as needed for a single night which was a place to sleep and to shower in the morning.

2 stars because of location...... staff was friendly enough but offered a smaller room after we discovered our carpet was soaked halfway into the room from previous days rainstorm. I booked a King, offered a smaller queen room and declined and then offered towels for wet carpet, no discount, no nothing. Cracked ceilings and water stains above bed in 215 (forgot to get photos), paint on showerhead and peeling wallpaper in bathroom..... freshly renovated my butt. Not worth the over $400 for 2 nights!!!! I'll be staying at a different IHG hotel in the future.

This was a bucket list trip for my wife and I! We have always wanted to visit Salem during Halloween! 👻🎃 Very disappointed in our choice of hotel. We are IHG reward members so we specify looked for a Holiday Inn close to Salem. We booked approximately 2 mounts in advance, as we did for most of the trip. While checking in, I asked what time the indoor swimming pool opened and closed? The desk clerk informed us the pool has been closed for repair. She said it had been closed for a few weeks and she had no idea when repairs would be completed. None of this information was on the website! We were very disappointed! Then we were told the wifi was down! We checked in on Monday and the wifi was back up and running late day on Tuesday. Tring to make the best of everything we settled into our room and unpacked all of our things, I went to get ice. Only to find out they only had one working ice machine on the 3rd floor. This place was huge! One ice machine on the other side of the hotel kinda sucked! Few hours into our stay, my wife tried to use the restroom in our room only to find out the toilet was leaking all over the bathroom floor and would not flush. After calling the front desk to see if they could fix it, we were told no maintenance person was on site to make the repair and that we needed to be moved to another room. So after traveling all day, we had to pack everything back up and move to another room! 20 rooms away! Only to find out the new room didn't have a chair or lamp in the sitting area. This room must of been the room they used if they needed a piece of furniture for another room. I've never stayed at a Holiday Inn where breakfast wasn't included! They didnt have anything in the lobby! We were told the restaurant next door served breakfast, but it wasn't included. I could go on and on! But it is what it is! The manager did attempt to make it right when we checked out. She gave us 15% off our entire stay, which came out to be almost $200 dollars. and 2000 IHG bonus points. I'm hoping this was just a bad we for them and not the normal.
