Every man or woman has to order a tomahawk steak before they pass away and this is the best place to go and stay at a hotel if you’re gonna go down to the stockyard and eat a tomahawk steak.

The location may not seem ideal, but they have a shuttle which has multiple convenient destinations like the aquarium, copley square, and Harvard square. All service was impeccable, the shuttle driver Al especially. He was extremely kind and patient with us. That really helps with some of the stressful moments kids bring.
- SPSophie PenkratDec 29, 20253.0I've stayed at this DoubleTree for approximately a month and a half (across 4-5 different stays) over the past year due to its close proximity to Harvard. PLUSES: The ABSOLUTE best part of this hotel is the staff in the restaurants and bars. My FAVORITE person is DELMY in the Fusion Lounge. She makes great drinks, is super personable, and always remembers me and other returning guests. Check out Over the Charles in the summer too—great views and karaoke on some nights! The free shuttle to campus is great, but it doesn't always run. The staff may help you find a ride, but they are not very forthcoming with assistance. Once they got me a cab but other times they shrug and say "sorry, it's not running" and look away. But when it's running, it's SUPER convenient to get to Harvard Square and other parts of Cambridge. MINUSES: The staff at the front desk is a little gruff and stand-offish, which is a little off-putting. They don't offer much information, even when asked. Don't use the hot tub by the pool. The tile grout is in disrepair, which leaves a gritty layer of broken stone on the bottom of the floor and seats. So, not the most comfortable. I do return cause the views are lovely and all of the staff at Fusion Lounge and in Boathouse 400 (the breakfast/brunch restaurant) are super lovely!
- DWDavid WallDec 17, 20251.0$50 early check-in fee, even though my room standard would be reduced as it’s not available anyway. Nah. Only hotel chain that’s doing this, it’s dumb. If you have availability then what’s the issue? So, 2hrs to go of me just sitting in this very quiet lobby, room is empty and available but it costs me to enter before 3pm. Long term hotel chain membership is irrelevant also I guess. Never happens when I stay with Marriott, just saying.
