At approximately 2:00 AM, I stepped out to the pool area to make a phone call while attempting to locate a family member who was also staying at the hotel after a late evening out. A staff member identifying herself as a manager informed us that the pool was closed, and we immediately complied and returned inside.
However, my sister’s room is only accessible via the pool area, and after being unable to reach her by phone, we briefly re-entered through another door solely to knock on her room and confirm her safety. At that point, the same staff member followed us outside and continued to confront us. Despite calmly explaining our situation, she demanded that we “prove” access by unlocking a door, which was not possible, as we were simply trying to check on a family member.
The interaction escalated unnecessarily. Rather than assisting or de-escalating, she repeatedly asserted authority, threatened to call the police, and spoke to us in an aggressive and dismissive manner. Her approach lacked professionalism, basic customer service, and any willingness to understand the situation.
Even after we returned to the lobby, she continued to follow and lecture us, reinforcing a hostile environment instead of resolving the issue constructively.
This experience reflects extremely poor judgment and unprofessional conduct from night management. Based on this interaction alone, I would not consider staying here ever again. Not to mention, she did this in front of a lobby full of 4 or so other guests. Really not a great look.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the holiday inn in the French quarter. The location is amazing and it takes no time to get to the main locations in New Orleans which is really quite nice, you don’t feel like you need to rush around. The building is also quite beautiful it’s an old style building that is breath taking, an old New Orleans style courtyard with a pool in the centre. Another thing I loved is the water dispenser, had flavoured waters sparkling water hot water, it was really quite convenient instead of having to constantly go out and get more waters. Things I didn’t like: the pool is constantly described as heated, but it literally isn’t heated at all, another thing that was weird is you had to share a balcony with other people if you were upgraded, which is annoying but whatever, if you’re in New Orleans and want a hotel that’s nice enough, stay here!

Hotel overall, just right. Rooms, service of Hotel employees, facilities all great. As an IHG brand loyalist, the "free breakfast " advertised on rhe site ar booking is not in fact free. It's a $15 per room voucher for the neighboring restaurant at which a drip roof costs $8. Plus had a "resort fee" of $25 a day added after check in which waa not mentioned anyplace at booking. Very disappointed in the food and beverage situation.

Awful experience at check-in. There is a serious miscommunication issue with the overnight staff and the reservations department. It seems there aren't guidelines to follow here. We are here for a wedding; We are visiting New Orleans for the first time. We came for a wedding and made a reservation with our wedding block. We arrived a little after 3am expecting a room, only to find out our reservation had been cancelled. We were told there weren't any rooms available and our reservation was cancelled, after I spoke with the reservations department in the morning to inform them that we would be arriving past midnight. But of course, a room exactly like the one we reserved magically became available after going back and forth. The hotel is beautiful! But our experience was already ruined at check-in, can't wait to leave.

Really disappointing experience overall. Our first room (213) was right next to the elevator—extremely loud and not very clean. We were moved to room 245, which was an improvement, but still not great.
The worst part was after checkout. I accidentally left a bag in the bathroom and didn’t realize until later. Since we were leaving for a cruise, I had to wait a full week before returning to the hotel to retrieve it. When I finally came back, I was told nothing had been turned in. So my belongings were essentially gone/stolen (makeup, skin care products, perfume).
Definitely not happy with how this was handled.
