The staff in this hotel has been great. I’ve had quite a few hiccups during my day in the television, not working for three days the shower breaking. I’ve had to change rooms every day that I’ve been here, but I must admit the staff was very accommodating and they did everything they could to assist me housekeeping Miss Latoya S. was great. She made sure that our room was clean daily, and we had Everything we needed. Front desk assistance, Peyton, B. and Irvin B. Did all they could to assist us in every way that was possible from finding us new rooms to ensuring that engineer reported promptly to take care of our complaints. This hotel may is outdated and appeared to need quite a bit of work. The customer service was exceptional.

We stay at HI Express regularly when we travel.
I’d never stay at this one again.
Location was scary. My daughter and I were counting the number of homeless people laying around (possibly dead) the streets right near the hotel.
First room - beds were not properly built. Falling off the actual frames.
While it was clear that the housekeeping staff did the best they could, you can only pretty up garbage so much.
Did I mention the rats? Yes, rats. After we had moved rooms, the rats became the final straw. We left without staying the night.
I’m still horrified.

Everything was great, except that the hallway on the 4th floor to get to our room and smelled like vomit 🤢
We literally had to hold our breaths to get to the elevator.
On the other hand Front desk attendants were fantastic

Great location to downtown and a short walk to the State Farm arena/Super Dome.
Came into town on am NBA arena tour for spring break, and was supposed to stay two nights. Arrived at 1:30 and was told the room was not ready but we'd receive a call when it was.
Originally the staff was polite, and allowed access to the pool/workout area. At 3 o'clock, which is check in time, we went back to check on room. A guy at the front who kept saying "I just got here." was rude and dismissive. Room still not ready and no information about when it may be.
We were 4th in line at 1:30 and watched three room keys get handed out before, and other groups that were waiting were not gone.
I know there are a number of reasons a room may not be ready at check-in, but the lack of customer service was some of the worst I've seen. In this case we arrived early to ensure we'd have time to visit New Orleans before a 6:00 tip-off. Not only were we unable to do that, but it was clear the staff didn't mind if we stayed there or not.
We left, canceled the room and went to their partner hotel across the parking lot. Staff at the new hotel was amazing and we got right in. Rates were similar.
People make the difference and if rates are close at a different hotelfor your trip, I'd try somewhere else.

Nice hotel by the super dome, within walking distance from Bourbon st., Canal, and Riverwalk. Negative note (not hotels fault) is the sidewalks are very rough, so walking, to the bushes and streetcar lines can be an obstacle course. Hotel staff is very pleasant, and very helpful, and accommodating as possible!
