This is a very nice hotel that is close to some shopping and restaurants, but not too close to be disturbed by noise. There are several great restaurants within 10 minutes walking of this place. We are here for a four-day conference. The hotel is beautifully designed and well maintained the hotel rooms themselves show a few dated items, particularly the taps in the sink and shower, which tend to be a little tricky to operate, but not insurmountable. The rooms are clean and housekeeping. Does an excellent job maintaining the rooms each day. There is a wonderful coffee, making machine with plenty of coffee provided every day. The hotel is very quiet and even though there was a conference going on here you really couldn’t hear any noise down the hallways of the guest floors. The conference facilities were very nice and hit from head a water station, pads, and some very nice pens. The main ballroom was a good size, but unfortunately, the front of the room where the speeches were made were very dark and it was hard to see what was going on upfront. We were told that there’s no way to control the lighting to make it brighter. Food and beverage services for the conference were good. I ate in both restaurants and the service and food were good. There is a self-service snack room where you can buy chips, candy, drinks, etc. and pay using a machine. Apparently, if there is a pool snd a gym but I did not use it. I love the fact that I got an immediate text message from the registration desk after I checked and asking if everything was OK I love the fact that I can text ask questions and they respond immediately they gave me great suggestions for a restaurants nearby. The area seems safe enough around the hotel, and I was only asked for money once on the way to a restaurant several blocks away. There are other restaurants nearby too.

Absolutely fantastic breakfast buffet. The omelette station is a must! Really appreciate the friendly service from the servers and the frequent check ins to make sure we had everything we needed. The hotel room was fine but definitely needs some work. The shower pressure sucks and really wished we had a mini fridge we could use. The lack of a fridge would probably be the main reason we wouldn’t stay again.

★★☆☆☆ – Very Disappointing Stay, but Some Staff Were Excellent I recently stayed at the InterContinental New Orleans and, unfortunately, my experience fell far below expectations. Cons: • Fleas in the bed: We were bitten multiple times during the night – an absolutely unacceptable issue for any hotel, let alone one at this price point. • Fridge unusable: We couldn’t store any food because the fridge simply didn’t work. • Extremely dated rooms: The property feels well past its prime and in desperate need of refurbishment. • Terrible pillows & poor service: The pillows were so bulky and uncomfortable that we requested replacements three separate times. Despite being told they were on the way, nothing ever arrived. We eventually had to Uber to Walmart late at night just to buy our own pillow. • No water except on one floor: The only place to get drinking water was on the 15th floor, which makes no sense for a hotel of this size. • Complicated shower: The shower was so unintuitive we had to call someone to come up and show us how to use it. • General feeling of poor management: The whole place feels like it’s running on autopilot and lacks attention to guest experience. Pros: • Laundry service was excellent: I handed in laundry and not only was it cleaned exceptionally well, but they even returned money they found in one of the pockets — very honest and appreciated. • Divanti the bellman was outstanding: Friendly, helpful, and genuinely the highlight of the stay. Overall: The hotel feels like it’s in urgent need of refurbishment and stronger management. Some staff members go above and beyond, but the fundamental issues — cleanliness, comfort, maintenance, and basic guest care — made this a disappointing stay. I wouldn’t return until major improvements are made.

I stayed for four nights while attending a conference. The hotel was listed as a recommended option in the conference housing page, and when I booked my room, it clearly showed breakfast as included. For the first two mornings, when I went for breakfast, I was presented with a bill. I explained that my room included breakfast, and the staff assured me it would be adjusted on my final bill. However, when I double checked with the front desk later to make sure my company wouldn’t be overcharged, I discovered that my reservation actually did not include breakfast. Despite this frustrating experience, I must highlight one person who truly stood out, Marjan, a wonderfully kind and respectful lady at the reception. Her professionalism and warm attitude turned my disappointment around and left me with a positive impression when checking out. She herself deserves 5 out of 5 stars! On the downside, the shower faucet in my room wasn’t fully functional, so the water didn’t run properly from the showerhead. There was also no coffee or tea available in the lobby, something even standard hotels usually provide for guests convenience. Only cold water was offered, but the dispenser was empty in the middle of a hot day, and I had to remind the manager whose desk was right in front of it, to refill it.

I’m staying at the Intercontinental New Orleans now and I’m discovering several things this hotel charges guests that is a little ridiculous. First, this is $600 per night hotel and I would think parking would be free. Not here! Parking is $56 per night. Hence $280 is added to the bill. Secondly, this hotel offered microwaves prior to COVID. During the epidemic, the hotel removed all microwaves and has never thought to return them. Since my mother and I would be staying five nights we decided to buy a small microwave to heat up our doggie bags from various local restaurants. Another $70 added to my bill. Thirdly, my reservation included breakfast but when we completed our meal, the waitress brings over a $71 bill. I asked the front desk why was this, they replied that everything except the service fees would come off in their system. Breakfast is a buffet with someone serving eggs per your desire. The waitress will also bring you coffee or tea. A service fee for this? OKAY!!! Fourthly, the refrigerator was completely filled with alcohol, water and sodas. They were significantly overpriced however that was not my concern. A hotel staff member knocked at my door with replacement drinks. I explained that we had not used any hotel refreshments and I asked her if she needed to count them. She did of course and found everything accounted for. I presumed that she didn’t believe me to be a honest person. I don’t know why she just wouldn’t accept my answer and move on. She did ask me if I wanted her to put the drinks back in. I explained that we took out the drinks to allow room for our leftovers. The hotel staff member quickly informed me that there’s a $7 per night to use the refrigerator. I couldn’t believe it. So that’s another $35 added to my bill. Lastly, this is my third night here and I’ve been driving my truck in and out of the facility since there’s an amount to pay to drive in and out upon check out. However if you want to go in and out of the parking deck several times there’s a higher rate. OKAY!!! I have no idea what else I will get charged for that would usually should be included with my stay since I haven’t checked out yet but I will keep you updated. This is definitely the last time I reserve a room at the Intercontinental New Orleans or in any city. Unless you enjoy being nickled and dimed for everything, I would no recommend you stay here. It makes you feel like the hotel isn’t making a profit and pass that out on the guests to cover financial shortfalls. As promised I want to update you once I check out. When I returned the room keys the attendant went over any charges that I may have incurred. Once nothing was found, she informed me that I had to pay $120 extra for a destination fee. As I stated earlier, the facility will nickel and dime you for everything. Some of you reading this review will believe everything was acceptable. I DON’T. Also I’ve read the management’s response and request that all their staff be on the same page because the staff members who arrived at my door clearly informed me that there was a $7 per night to use the refrigerator.
