We came here on a business trip and didn’t realize it was St. Patrick’s weekend which offered lots of entertainment and we loved it. We would have rather spent the whole time out on the strip lol. The hotel staff were all nice and our room was clean. We honestly didn’t notice the noise in our room but some people complained about that. Our stay was great. The really only complaint we all had was that parking was expensive. Other than that we give it a great review.

Let’s start with the positive. The location is great. You’re right in the heart of New Orleans with easy access to the French Quarter, restaurants, bars, and attractions. If proximity to nightlife and the action is your top priority, this hotel checks that box. However, once you walk into the property, there’s a noticeable shift in energy. The lobby was packed with large crowds constantly coming in and out. The bar area felt mobbed, more like a nightlife hotspot than a hotel lounge. There was a party like atmosphere that may appeal to some, but if you’re expecting a calm or polished hotel environment, this may catch you off guard. One thing that stood out immediately was the smell of weed smoke coming from the elevators. It wasn’t subtle. It set the tone for what the stay might feel like. From a safety perspective, the elevators do not require a key card to access guest floors. That means anyone can walk in off the street and go upstairs. In a busy city like New Orleans, that’s something travelers should be aware of, especially if security and controlled access are important to you. I’ve attached a photo of the room I booked versus the room I received. Here’s what stood out: Rust visible on the door hinges Extremely poor lighting (in the photo, every single light in the room was turned on) No real view to speak of A door closer detached from the actual door A dried substance that had previously run down the door The walls are paper thin. You can hear everything — hallway traffic, conversations, doors closing. Privacy is minimal. The bathroom is also very small. You cannot access the shower if the bathroom door is open. It’s a tight, awkward layout that doesn’t feel thoughtfully designed. I stayed in the room for no more than 10 minutes before deciding it wasn’t the right fit for me. I packed up and went to the nearby Kimpton Hotel Fontenot instead. If you have a certain standard when traveling, whether that’s cleanliness, security, or overall atmosphere, I wouldn’t personally recommend staying here. However, if you’re looking for a relatively affordable place to lay your head down after a long night of partying and you don’t plan to spend much time in the room, this may work for you. Using IHG Points? If you’re planning to use IHG points for a stay in the area, I would absolutely recommend the Kimpton just minutes away instead. The difference in atmosphere, condition, and overall experience was night and day. If you’d like more details on that property, feel free to check out my five-star review of the Kimpton.

Friendly staff, excellent service and great location. The room was really small like a dorm. It was basically a small bedroom with an even smaller bathroom and it did not have private balconies which is what I look for. Also, due to overbooking they mixed up my room and only gave me a queen when I paid for a king bed.

Receptionist Britaina (not sure of the name spelling) hung up the phone on me multiple times when trying to get assistance with a package I had delivered to the hotel. I’m from out of state and needed an expedited service that was denied to me via usps and this hotel. DO NOT STAY HERE!!! We would have paid extra to have our package given to us but was never given that chance. At first we were told that the manager was at lunch. Now we were being told that the manager is gone for the day prior to 3pm… As a frequent IHG traveler, We will be calling corporate.

The hotel is not great. The location is fantastic. Stayed for 6 days and I've never slept so little in a hotel:) I understand it's the biggest party around but yikes super noisy. Had to wait 3 hours past 4pm.check in. They ran out of bottled water, the staff didn't show up to work and so there was no food or room service available. The room was falling apart. All the hooks falling off the walls. 3 towels for 4 people. Dirty ripped stained curtains lamps that didn't work. No fan in the bathroom. The AC wasn't functioning right so it was hot and stuffy and stale. The bed was comfy but tiny!
