I booked a reservation with this hotel in November, but was denied a room because of credit card issue. I booked through Priceline which I purchased protection plan also. Manager at hotel denied my request for refund. I wouldn’t recommend staying at this hotel ever. I contacted Priceline about refund and all I needed was managers approval but was denied. Hard earned money gone. $200 to be exact. Manager was rude and obnoxious. As I tried contacting customer service I was told I had to step out of building. The building is surrounded by homeless people and bums/panhandlers everywhere you look. Once again “All I needed was managers approval” thanks to Hotel manager front desk…. For nothing. I’ll never stay in a Holiday Inn ever again in my life.

Even the most ghetto hotel offers you coffee, a donut, some cereal, an apple, orange juice, a banana, something. Not Holiday Inn... you get nothing. The first thing they do when you check in is try to get you to agree to $45 parking per day. Thank God I went and looked outside before I agreed to it. Because right on the back street is metered parking and after 7:00 p.m. on Saturdays and all day on Sundays the meters are free. So I literally parked at the meter right on the street behind the hotel which gave me the closest access to the entrance, even closer than their own parking garage. Classic Holiday Inn they try to upcharge you for everything, breakfast, parking, anything and everything. Great location have you check all the different websites that offer deals on rooms you can get a room here sometimes for a little over a hundred bucks which is cool but again that's not through Holiday Inn. Overall the rooms are clean, the view is great, great location downtown close to everything, do not agree to parking and don't expect to get anything other than no customer service. 2.5 ⭐ ⭐ hotel.

I rarely do such a negative feedback for a place. The staff is overall good, the location and the room is good. I stop here : I don't like hidden fees, this place is a trap for hidden fees. I don't know if we got one bad employee or if this is an internal policy to try to overcharge as much as possible. Instead of using a third party to do the reservation online, as a business owner myself, I prefer to call to reserve directly with the staff so the business keeps more money. What a mistake here. Online, we had rooms at 74$+tx (which was surprisingly cheap for a 3 star downtown hotel), when I called the typical: nothing below 90$... I said: you know, online we see options at 74$, a room suddenly appeared available at 84$... Ok, I'll take it (anyway we want to encourage businesses). The person over the phone said: if you want to add 1.22$ per person, we can add you the breakfast and I said ok great. Now, the price when I recieved my confirmation was now 122$ for the night + hotel fees + taxes. Which at the end was 150ish$... Really far from the 74$+tx online, + the parking fees... When I tried to ask at the desk to clarify why all these fees were added (almost 40$ for two breakfast, without even mentioning the "Hotel fees") the person was pressing me to sign the contract instead of giving me 2-3 minutes to read it (with no one else waiting for the front desk)... Very disappointed with this way of charging multiple additional fees.

Check-in was smooth and the room was fine. Everything we needed was provided except bottled water, which was available downstairs. Since we only stayed one night and were out most of the time, this wasn’t a major issue. Unfortunately, our dining experience significantly impacted our stay. We were a family of six hoping to sit together, but we were split into two tables (2 and 4). We didn’t push back and tried to move forward. However, from the beginning, our server (with pinks in her hair) had an unwelcoming attitude. When my sister in law ordered salmon, the server reacted rudely to her pronunciation, which immediately made us uncomfortable. The food took a while to arrive—which we understood—but when it did, none of us enjoyed it. Since the food was already served and the server’s demeanor made us uncomfortable, we didn’t feel at ease asking for replacements or refunds. When we later gave honest feedback at checkout, the same server became defensive, repeatedly mentioning that there were cameras and implying that because we ate the food, our feedback wasn’t valid. Her reaction were defensive, offensive, felt unnecessary and confrontational. Defensive, offensive We were simply trying to share feedback, not cause trouble. They add a 30% tip automatically to a a group of 6+. Even though we were seated separately. I don’t think that big of a tip was necessary, especially for such a rude server! The situation escalated to the point where security was called, which left our entire family feeling humiliated and shaken—especially since we had a young child with us. Not to mention my mother in law had visited from abroad and we wanted to make it special for her! The following morning, my sister-in-law’s family went for breakfast (which was prepaid with their stay) and were again met with rude behavior by another server over a misunderstanding about breakfast tickets. This added to the overall negative experience. At checkout, we calmly shared our concerns with the front desk, with no ill intentions—just hoping to explain what happened. Sadly, the repeated lack of courtesy from the restaurant staff overshadowed what could have been a pleasant stay. Overall, while the hotel itself was fine, the restaurant service greatly impacted our stay. In a city that welcomes so many visitors from around the world, we hoped for a more patient and hospitable experience.
