Our stay was awesome. Bonus was The Palm & Pebble restaurant on-site. The food was unbelievable everyday! Large portions and great prices. Also, loved the Music Bingo and Truvia. Bar drinks were superb as well. Shout out to Amanda who was outstanding. Sharin at the desk was very helpful. Would stay again at this beachside establishment. Dog friendly too!

Upon arrival, got told that our reservation got canceled due to them trying to reach us that morning but never did. They charged card for the room three times. Wasnt told that when you parked in their parking lot, had to scan a code to pay for parking, which already thought it was paid with the room. Didnt find out until the next day when checking out. Thank god we didnt get booted, but would like to be informed so we couldn't had to pay 177 to get unbooted. Overall bad experience when arrival, room was decent but notice small things like the light fixture was torn and looked like it was taped around, some light fixtures didnt work. Location was great for anyone who was going to any events at the stadiums. Good walking decent.

I really loved the hotel they have a laundry room and a pool and free breakfast and cost half of what the other ones in the area do and have way more convenient and cheaper parking . I will be staying there again the biggest issue I had was that before check out a member of maintenance walked into my room with out knocking as I had just gotten out of the shower . Thankfully I was covered up but it definitely scared the hell out of me . If yall could tell your staff not to do that then this hotel would be a 10/10

I had a very bad experience at this hotel. The morning after my stay, I realized I had accidentally left my wallet in the bedside table of my room. I called the hotel right away and was told someone from lost and found would call me back. No one did. I called again at lunchtime and was told the same thing. The next morning, I called again, and the person at the desk said since no one had called, he would go check himself. He came back quickly and said no wallet was found. I told him exactly where it was and asked if housekeeping had checked there. He said yes, but when I asked him to double-check, he said he couldn’t because someone else was now in that room. I explained that I was certain it was left there, and either housekeeping missed it or wasn’t being honest. He abruptly cut me off, asked if there was “anything else,” and then hung up on me. I filed a report with their customer service line, and a few days later the manager called. He said they didn’t find anything but would speak to his staff and check the room again. It’s now been over a week, and I still haven’t heard back. My wallet contained my debit card, credit cards, and about $300 in cash. I’m extremely disappointed with this hotel’s lack of integrity and poor communication. I would not recommend staying here. The room also had a poor odor.

This was our first time at The Shelby and it won’t be our last. We did have a minor mixup with the type of room initially, but the staff did everything they could to make it right. We had reserved oceanfront, and though the staff had so graciously upgraded us to a larger room, it put us on the side of the building, with a view of the building next to us. Miss Nikki, was very welcoming at the front desk, and when I asked about correcting our room, she tried her best to accommodate us. Miss Sharon who is another front desk staffer was doing double duty as the bell person, and she was so helpful getting us unloaded and up to our room. Kyla (hotel management) was amazing correcting our room to reflect what we had reserved and Marvin and Tellys made the process of changing our room an absolute breeze. A couple hours after we had changed rooms, my husband realized he had forgotten his attaché in our 1st room, and Miss Sharon and the building manager (I didn’t catch her name) were so helpful in tracking it down and delivering it straight to our new room. The grounds and pool area are beautifully kept, I always saw someone cleaning or tidying something. The pool deck is gorgeous, and has plenty of furnishings to accommodate guests. The pool towels were actually a decent size, and plentiful. Unfortunately the pool isn’t heated, which would have been a huge bonus, considering it was warm enough to enjoy the outdoors, but the pool water was very cold. The hallways were clean and quiet. The beds were very comfy and we had plenty of towels and wash rags. The in-room coffee maker…meh, seemed a little on the cheap side, though I did appreciate the real glassware and ceramic coffee cups. I did love the aluminum water bottles in the rooms and the refill station next to the elevator. I guess my only real gripe would be that it’s unfortunate that the facility is cashless, because not knowing this initially made it difficult to tip the staff. It would be nice if the front desk at least had petty cash for making change…even the restaurant is cashless. So all in all my husband and I really appreciated our stay at the Shelby, and most notably Sharon, Nikki, Kyla, Tellys, Marvin and the kind woman in building management who all helped make our vacation one of our best ever in Myrtle Beach.
