Horrible experience. Best Western use to be my go to hotel. Now my member points have to just piled up because I can't even use them. It's become hard to find a good clean Best Western. I started calling about 7am Monday morning because the website wouldn't let me book with my points. I called the 1800 number and got a nice young lady who took care of me. The problem came when I decided to add just 1 day to reservation. I was back and forth and the only solution they could come up with was an extra $300 for the one extra day. When I said I wanted the same rate as the other days, they said I had to call the location. I call the MLK location in Lake Charles. They tried to get me to pay the extra $300 as well. The receptionist said she would call the manager. His name is Paul and he was sorry and waisted my time. I didn't try to solve anything. I decided to just cancel and rebook everything. Called the 1800 number back. Was on the phone for about 30 minutes. The phone got disconnected. They never called backed and i refused to go through the torture of verification and being on the phone for endless minutes. It was now 2pm and i felt like almost my whole day was lost and no still reservation. I decided to rip the bandade, cancel and get an Airbnb. This is why so many traditional hotels are empty and alternatives stays are sooooo popular and lucrative. I decided to read a few of the reviews and they were horrible. I wish i would have read the reviews before i started to book at this dirty horrible Best Western. I bet this Best Western will not be full and I will be spending a full week somewhere else in Lake Charles

Check in was smooth on 10/10/205. Staff were very friendly and accommodating (so I thought). Walked in the room to a horrible smell like the carpet needs a deep cleaning. I didn’t let that bother me because I’m not a complainer, I would rather try to fix it. I sent my daughter to the Dollar store across the street for air freshener and turned the AC on its lowest setting to circulate the heat out. Walked in the bathroom to a dirty tub and hair on the floor near tub/toilet. Still not upset, easy fix due to I always bring cleaning stuff with me. Ceiling had what looked like a mud spot and a dark spot over the window. Next morning I go to the desk to ask for accommodations with a later checkout and was told the latest they could do was 2pm at a $20 fee, so I agreed to that instantly. Clerk asked me how do I pay my deposit and I told her everything was on my card. She told me I was all set. Checked out before 2pm and while walking out we noticed a dead cockroach on the top part of the curtain. Checked my card and the entire amount (stay plus deposit) was charged. I reached out to customer relations only to get told a total fabricated LIE. No one told me anything about 1pm checkout or a full night would be charged. I wouldn’t agree to that EVER. Definitely won’t EVER stay at this location again because I don’t like dishonest people. We work too hard for our money just to have people take it. I don’t care if it was $5 do no play with people’s money. That’s bad business all the way around.

Hotel needs some serious maintenance. Room was damp and muggy. Outlets didn't hold things plugged in. Only two good useable outlets available for use. Faucet and showerhead need to be replaced or cleaned with CLR to give a good stream. In the current state, not worth the money I paid.

This was our first time staying at this location. The check in was quick and the associate very nice. The room was great with the exception that there was a constant low level noise in the room from some type of machine. It kept coming on and off during the night. The breakfast was ok. Boxed eggs and the usual breakfast sausages. I would stay there again but in a different room.
