- PBPaul Baranowski1 day ago5.0Recently I stayed at the Candlewood Suites Cut Off / Galliano for over 3 weeks, including through the super busy times of Mardi Gras 2026 Fat Tuesday Feb 17th. The staff are fantastic, helpful and accommodating with extending my stay a few different times. The room was very comfortable, and I was especially grateful for the spacious kitchen / office counter so I could eat and catch up on computer work at the same time. The full-size fridge is a bonus, and I did some cooking with a big Walmart, a short walk from the hotel. It is also so cool how you can borrow items in the lobby such as crock pots. I don’t remember seeing anything like that before.

Avoid this place.This hotel is nothing like the photos and the grounds reeked of cigarette smoke, and the overall appearance felt rundown and neglected.The receptionist looked completely unprofessional and acted like basic customer service was an inconvenience. There was no parking available for me, and when I explained that I needed to cancel because of this, I was met with zero empathy. She told me to park at a Holiday Inn or even a Walmart down the street—an absolutely ridiculous and unsafe suggestion. When I told her this was unreasonable, she then said she would mark me as a no-show and charge me anyway. I was shocked—I was standing right there, explaining my dilemma, and her response was essentially: either park off-site or be charged as a no-show. Once I realized the conversation was going nowhere, I asked if I could video the interaction and was granted permission. I will attempt to upload it as evidence of the poor customer service. Between the misleading photos, the unpleasant environment, and the shocking lack of professionalism, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone. Easily one of the most disappointing and frustrating experiences I’ve had while traveling.
